Where are you?????

Looks like we're coming up on the 330 days to book for next year (travel induced OCD is a terrible terrible thing :lmao: ).

Our plan for 2008 is to do 4 days at WDW, then drive south, and spend a week in Ft Myers with my parents. We'll be flying out of BOS on Feb 12th. Looks like I can book that flight tonight, after midnight!!!!

Those of you looking to fly closer to President's Week, should start looking over the next few days, if you don't want to wait for AirTran, JetBlue, or SWA.

We'll be flying Delta for the flight down, and will figure out the way home in 11 days.

Good Luck All.

What airport do you fly out of Debster?

I'm a calendar-watcher also. We already have our timeshare booked, now we need flights.

When I checked Delta yesterday, the first available flight was something like Feb 10th ($170 by the way). We need the 16th, or maybe the 15th if we do a late flight.

drew--I fly out of Logan in Boston.

It seems to be that Delta releases the next day's flights right around midnight. I happened to be up last night, and checked, and they rolled right around midnight, for flights on the 11th of February. So if you're looking for the 15th or 16th, you should be booking on the 21st or 22nd of this month. So you've got 4 or 5 days to wait.

We are Pres. Week regulars! We usually fly Airtran out of ROC (it's the only direct flight!) so we have a few months.

We are mulling over going in April this year instead of Pres. Week (since Easter is in March).

Debster - we are also looking to fly out of N.England in Feb. around that time. This time we are doing a few days in Orlando then a 7 night cruise over President's Week.

What sort of rates are you finding for the flight down on Delta?

Good luck to you.

Heather--right now, the non-stops on Delta are $149 for the 1st flight of the day and $99 for the other 3 non stops into Orlando. THis is for a one way. I expect to pay MUCH more to get home, but that's OK.

We are headed down 2/8-2/16. I am going to wait for Jet Blue.

First, because I have a credit I have to use. Second, this past year we used them (2/9-2/17) and got a good rate (200 rt Newak to MCO) when we booked in June - we booked the first day rates were released.

I am waiting anxiously for some good flights the 16-23 of Feb 2008. Northwest Air has flights already released, but they are expensive. Midwest air was showing up on Kayak for $285 out of Boston, but then when I clicked on the link, it said that they were only booking through the 13th. I checked every day at least 3-4 times per day starting the day flights came out last year. I actually didn't book my flights until July 9th, that is when I got the price I wanted, $257 including taxes, out of the closest airport to us, PWM, which is also what I wanted.
After the weather fiasco this year around President's Week, I can't help but wonder if we are playing with fire by trying to fly at this time of year. We've also considered April vacation for next year. If I don't find the flights at the prices I want in February, we will go then.

Dougsmom, I can tell you for February weather concerns; we've made this trip in Febraury the past 5 years. This year is the FIRST time we've had any weather delays. Seriously. My parents did this trip every year for 20 years (mom was a school teacher) and in those 20 years, they had 4 weather delays that were significant. Yes, it's a risk, but it's certainly one I'm willing to take to get the heck outta here in February. ;)

Now I start the search for flights home, which I KNOW will be much more expensive.

Delta just rolled around to the 2/16 departure date.

What a joke. Cheapest flight out of Albany is $388 1-way. there were many over $1,000 1-way. That's what I would expect to see a week before, not a year. Sorry, but I'm not booking flights for nearly $2,000 for just one way.

I can play this game - we don't mind driving. I'm not booking until there are more competitive fares availalble.

Take THAT, Delta!
