My Feet Are Killing Me and I Want a Lollipop 6/17-6/24 (Complete 7/24)

Seriously, I just fished a colored pencil out of her mouth. Well, all of the little tiny pieces of it. Thanks for sharing !!
:lmao: I had a dog that ate everything before, I understand! :rotfl:

“My hair is GREEN !!!” And it was a little bit. I am sure all of the blondes out there know that this can happen if you swim too much.
I am blond and use a shampoo in the summer called Malibu (ask your stylist if she can get it), it helps with the green!:thumbsup2

:yay:Yay, paperwork is done - can't wait to hear more about your first DVC trip plans - do I sense a pre-trip report coming???;)

Raglan Road looked yummy!

I hope your back is feeling better - I'm a PT, so reading about your pain level is a bummer.:sad2: I also have back issues (mainly scoliosis), so I can sympathize, but your situation is much more painful! Hopefully your Dr. is on top of some solutions for you:)

Off to walk the dog before everyone gets up!

This dog is bad. Monumentally bad.

I'll try the Malibu if the green gets too bad.

Yes, glad the paperwork is done. Ready to make some plans !!

Yes, the back pain is a downer. I need to exercise and lose some weight. I know that would make it feel better. But It hurts to exercise. It's a vicious cycle ....
I have a doctor's appt. next week. We will see what he has to say ...

I started reading this last night, and now I'm all caught up! :surfweb:

I'm so glad you guys loved OKW!! We used to stay there every year growing up in the 90's. :lovestruc I'm going in January for the first time in 6 years and we are staying there!!

I have loved reading so far! I laughed at your bathing suit comments, I have definitely witnessed the atrocities at Myrtle Beach one too many times.
Also, CONGRATS on DVC!!! That's awesome!!

:welcome: I just love the pin in your avatar !! We loved OKW for sure !! How awesome that you are going back to make some new memories !! I understand that they have redecorated all of the rooms. The one we had was really nice.

It is scary what people will wear to swim in. It is scary what people think they look good in. I know I don't look good, so I try to cover up as much as possible. We are super excited about DVC !!

Day Six – Part Four
So, still in Downtown Disney. We took more Lego pictures.

Then we headed back to the resort and a glass of wine … and another painkiller. DH went outside to smoke a stinky cigar and while he was out he took some photos of the back of our unit and the sunset.

He came back in and we watched some college baseball. UNC vs. Vandy. Vandy won, which meant we played them next.

Another fun thing about this trip. DD and DS are at the age where their baby teeth were coming out like crazy. DD lost a tooth and DS lost two !! The tooth fairy was working overtime on this trip !!!!

This was our Magic Kingdom day and MK had morning EMH. My plan was to make rope drop and RUN to Rapunzel and get in line for that. Well, things didn’t quite work out that way. I woke up early because my painkillers had definitely worn off. I got up, made some coffee, and took half a pain pill. And put the other half in the back pack. I knew this was going to be another long day, so I wanted to be ready.

Everyone was sleeping so well so I went up to Good’s to get to get us all some breakfast. We had used all of our table service credits, but with two days left, we had 19 CS credits and 11 snack credits to burn. Looks like we haven’t been doing enough eating and that we would need to step it up.

Some resort photos on the way to get breakfast.

Even though Good’s To Go opens up at 7:00 AM, they don’t start serving hot food until 7:30 AM. And I just didn’t want to wait. I get back to our villa and everyone is still sleeping soundly. I start another load of laundry and start straightening and packing some things. This was our last full day …. I was kinda sad to be leaving the next day.

I had a bagel and watched tennis until I saw signs of life. DD got up about 8:15 and went directly to the closet and put on her Rapunzel dress. She had been nagging me all week to wear it and I told her that she could only wear on her Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique day. I didn’t want her to get it dirty or otherwise destroy before that day, so she was really excited about getting to wear it.

I have a great story about this dress. DD loves Rapunzel and we all love the movie, so when I made the BBB appointment, she told me she wanted a Rapunzel dress. This turned out to be a huge problem. I looked everywhere and all over the internet and could not find one in her size, which was an 8, but I wanted a 10 … just in case. I looked for weeks and couldn’t find it. At about 2-3 weeks before our trip, I was starting to get worried that I wouldn’t be able to find one.

Finally, I posted a thread on the Dis asking if anyone could tell me where to find one. After a while, I got a private message from Carrie in AZ telling me she had called her local Disney Store and they said they had one in the size I wanted. So she put it on hold for me and then sent me a message. I was sooo excited. Seriously, how NICE was that ?? I was really very touched. And of course I called them right away (she provided the number) and asked them if they could send it to me. They said they could so I gave them my credit card number. I PM’ed Carrie back and thanked he profusely. And in a few days, the dress arrived. And it was PERFECT !! So thanks to the DIS and Carrie in AZ, we got our dress on time – YAY !!!

So everyone got up and got ready and we headed out to the park. We pulled into the parking lot at about 8:45 AM, so not too bad.

100_2603.jpg

I already figured at this time, that we were already too late for the Rapunzel meet and greet first show since the park had already been open for almost an hour, so I told DD we would do it in September when it wasn’t so crowded. I wasn’t too worried about making rope drop because we had the super fast passes that our DVC agent gave us, so we wouldn’t have to worry much about rides.

DD in her dress at the car.

100_2604.jpg

I packed a t-shirt dress just in case she got uncomfortable or the dress got too itchy. So we hopped on the tram and then boarded the monorail

100_2605.jpg

100_2606.jpg

100_2607.jpg

And we got stuck …. On the monorail …. Right here

100_2616.jpg

For 45 minutes. Something about adding another monorail to the track and having to perform safety checks. It was very tedious. So I took a bunch of pictures.

OH NO! Stuck on the monorail! I dont think that has ever happened to me for more than a few minutes at the most! Sounds like your family handled it well though, mine would have been pounding the doors to get out! LOL!

My DD10 lost a tooth on our vacation this summer also!

She swims almost every day, she is a red head and her hair can get green also. We use Ultra Swim, its in a blue bottle and you can get it at Walgreen's or CVS. I think its 5 or 6 bucks and works well for us.

I have never been stuck on it either. Everyone was fairly calm and patient though. We did have a fussy little one in our car for a few minutes, but the mother was able to calm her down thank goodness.

My DD lost another one just Thursday night. The tooth fairy is broke, I tell ya !!

Ultra Swim. I will have to remember that for sure.

Love, love, love your trip report!!! Thanks for taking the time to write it and post all the pics!!

Your DD looks BEAUTIFUL in her Rapunzel dress!! I was sooo happy to help you with it, and greatly appreciate your sweet words. :lovestruc

Can't wait to read more!!! Thanks again!!!

I love the pic of your ds in the monorail! 45 minutes is long time. Your dd looks beautiful in the dress. Thanks also for the pics from the resort...it looks lovely. Looking forward to hearing about the rest of your day.

Haha. She is all about that little puppy face. It WAS a long time to wait, but it all turned out OK. Our MK day was one of the BEST !!!

I'm only on page 3 so far and just finished reading about Sci-fi lunch. My eyes are barely able to stay open, so I will finish reading this tomorrow. Love reading trip reports :)

That Rapunzel dress is so cute! Love it!

But holy cow - I can NOT imagine getting stuck on the monorail for 45 minutes.

Your family is so sweet!
Congrats on DVC---Welcome home! We bought at BWV in 2000 and it was the best decision we ever made. Enjoy!
Thank you for the pictures...we leave in 10 days and the are really getting me hyped up and reddy to roll!
We've never done Photo Pass. How do you pre-pay. I am all about saving $$$!:cool1::

She just loved that dress and I thought she might get hot in it or that it might get uncomfortable, but she wore it all day.

Yes, that 45 minutes really stunk, but thank goodness we had the super fast passes. Those really helped !!! Because that 45 minutes was the longest we waited ALL day.

Your family is so sweet!

We are so excited for our code to come in the mail so we can begin making reservations !! I think we can just call Member Services, too. I might do that on Monday if I can't wait.

10 days !! So exciting. It is so funny how the week or so before a trip will just DRAG by and once you get there, time flies !! Here is the link to the photopass prepay. http://www.disneyphotopass.com/previsitoffer.aspx

When you purchase, they will give you a credit, so when go to purchase the CD, you will just have to pay for shipping which is about $3. So save the link they send you back when you pay the $99. Let me know if have any more questions and I will try to answer. Also, if you don't get a lot of photopass photos or you don't like them, they will refund your money. But if you DO like them, then you have saved $50. Also, when you prepay it makes you really make a point of finding the photographers and getting a photo.

Of course we LOVE all of our Photopass photos. I have a computerized photo frame and I have loaded all of them into and it just scrolls through them all day. I just LOVE it !!

After being stuck on the monorail for about 45 minutes, finally, we were moving again.

And DD wanted some popcorn. And I said, what the heck, we have snack credits to burn, right ??

100_2627.jpg

A photopass photographer took her picture and gave her a card.

I was thinking maybe this would be for the Castle show that day, but we never found out because we didn’t stay that late.

I had forgotten my visor …. Again …. So I had to buy another one. I went into the Emporium to look for one. And they really didn’t have that many. One of the CM’s that was helping me went into the back and brought out all of the kinds of visors they sold there which I thought was really nice of her. Two of them I already had, and three I didn’t really like much, so I chose this one.

100_2847.jpg

Some Main Street photos

100_2628.jpg

100_2629.jpg

100_2630.jpg

So I then joined DH and the kids who were trying to use up food credits in the Main Street Bakery.

This is what they got:

A cheese Danish

100_2633.jpg

An apple turnover

100_2634.jpg

A Powerade

100_2635.jpg

Some orange juice

100_2637.jpg

A coke

100_2638.jpg

A bagel

100_2639.jpg

Some grapes

100_2640.jpg

And the all important coffee.

Everything was good and the only thing that didn’t get all of the way consumed was the bagel.

So we left and headed towards our first ride.
Some photo pass on the way.

On the way over to our first ride, we saw these people singing and dancing.

100_2643.jpg

Clang, clang, clang went the trolley …….

The way through the castle a was blocked, so we went around through the outskirts of Liberty Square. It was a beautiful morning, so I took a lot of photos.

DD wanted to ride Peter Pan

100_2659.jpg

This would be the first time we would use the super fast pass. And they worked. We put them in the machine and BAM, instant fast pass. Out it came with the time for that minute on them. So we just walked right on.

And Standby was already 45 min. It was awesome.

Then DD and I wanted to ride It’s a Small World. DH and DS decided not to ride this one, so they …. Did something else … I am not sure what it was. But IASM was a walk-on.

100_2664.jpg

I think everyone was still in line for Peter Pan. :rotfl::lmao:

Wow, stuck for 45 minutes!? I don't think I've ever gotten stuck on one for more than a minute or two.

DD's Rapunzel dress is so cute!!

I'm afraid of heights, so being stuck for 45 min. would freak me out! I'm surprised they didn't compensate the passengers in some small way, like fast passes?

Yep. It was a while. I was sitting down, so I was fine :rotfl: If I had been standing, it would have been another matter. In hindsight, it wasn't so bad.

I never thought of the monorail as being high up, but I guess that is because heights don't really bother me much. No fast passes or anything. We weren't too upset, really. I mean, safety checks are safety checks. And you WANT Disney to do their safety checks. So, we had to wait. It is what it is ... or was what it was. We were just ready to get to the Magic Kingdom and begin our day. Albeit 45 min. later than we thought we would.
