My Favorite Author Exchange - Sent/Received

Does anyone read Oprah's Bookclub selections? I have only read a few. Has anyone read her current one, A Million Little Pieces? I haven't heard much about it.
Haven't read that one but I read Drowning Ruth b/c of Oprah and it is now one of my favorite books! I also read The Pact and the trilogy of A Boy Called "It" after watching Oprah talk about those. I have yet to be disappointed in anything she recommends. But then, I am not hard to please anyway!

And I finished one of the books sent to me several days ago. Then, I got swept up in real life activities and had to postpone starting the 2nd book that I received. I finally got to start it last night and so far I like it! Jayna22, you did good! I like both of them so far!

This exchange is going so well! I have just two left on my list to receive:

Cruisin
nhrenee

So many more books to look up when I go to the library!

My favorite is....I can't think of the name, but it is about the family that was on the Titanic. I think I bawl my eyes out every time I read that one.

That was a good one....I like her books that have historical settings.
The first one I read was Fine Things...that had me get the tissues out too.

I looked at my bookcase (I am a book-aholic ;) buy and don't read....well, intentions are there ;) ) and I do have Johnny Angel. I will read it next. I am just starting Trace ...another Patrica Cornwell one (and the last I have in the Kay Scarpetta series :( ).

Will there be another Author Exchange anytime soon? This exchange was so much fun, I would love to participate in another one!! :)

How about a re-exchange? Take the book you received and send it on to someone else? Although...I have to let my husband read mine before I could send it to anyone.

No package for me yet and I saw the parcel truck go by already today.

Maybe Monday :cheer2:

My mom, my sister and I always do this. My sister is in Germany and she'll send books to us after she's read them and then Mom and I pass them to each other. And anything I buy, I usually bring to Mom and then after she reads them, I mail them off to my sister. Mom never buys the books. She doesn't have to since we read so much, and she reads at a slower pace than we do...so she's always got a pile waiting to be read.

Thanks to clhpaca (Cindy!). I received a wonderful package (2 days ago  ) that contained a mystery book called "death, lies and apple pies. She also included a wonderful selection of flavored teas, book marks and a memo pad and a puzzle book!

I can't wait to get started on the book this weekend. Thanks again Cindy!!

My sister and I do this as well. Then they go to the used bookstore for credit.

Any that made their final stop with me or Mom, my Dad was giving them to the lady who cuts his hair. My sister, would pass hers to coworkers or her mother-in-law.

Robin, hopefully yours will arrive soon. I have down that it was mailed on the 8th.

A re-exchange or used book exchange would be fun! We had one a couple of years ago. Others have tried since then but they've never gotten off the ground. Maybe shoot for one after the first of the year? I'd be willing to try and organize it. They are a little more complicated since we try to see that everyone gets a book that they haven't read yet.

Papa Duce did one a few months ago, didn't have a lot of people who signed up though.

We never get rid of books
We have a library.....or so it seems

We do have favorite book coming as part of the MY Favorite exchange in the spring though.

And a used book one is great. Good luck Kirby ;)
I know whe Rajah did it, she put a lot of time into it matching genres, etc.

I used to keep most of my books...but my small apartment just won't allow it anymore. There are certain ones that I do keep...like Nicholas Sparks. I never send those away.

I'm off for another band competition. This time I'm a chaperone. Thank goodness for charter busses with VCRS! We've got a three hour drive ahead of us. I'll try to check in later this evening. I believe that mail is not delivered in Canada on the weekends so if you want to just let this slide until Monday, that would be okay.

See ya later!

You are right.

There is no mail delivery here on the weekend.

It will be Monday at the earliest that my parcel will arrive.

I'll be sure to update you on Monday :hourglass
