My Fathers Day Wish::: Resisting that web connection

We will be down at BWV in a few weeks and, since I am down there in part to cover the AAU National basketball tournament (work), I have no choice but to be "connected" during my trip. However, after a connection-free cruise a few months ago, I highly, highly, highly recommend ditching the laptop and resisting all urges to check email or answer text messages while on vacation.

Our cruise was only 4 days, but was entirely and completely refreshed at the end of it. COMPLETELY. It was unreal. It was as though I didn't have a care in the world. Part of that was because the Disney Cruise Line is AMAZING and catered to our every need/whim, but I truly believe it was because I wasn't tethered to my cell phone at all during the trip, and the internet connection in the room was absolutely horrendous (not even worth connecting).

It is to the point where I am seriously considering leaving my cell phone in the room at all times during my upcoming trip, or trading with my son, who doesn't have web access. It is just WAY too tempting to text people while on lines for a ride or surf the web at off times. Until I had no access to the web, I didn't realize how it affects my time when I am supposed to be with my family. Although I need a phone on this trip for "work" purposes, I am going to do everything in my power to limit my time with it.

So, on this Fathers Day, that is my vow ---- whenever possible, I am going to disconnect from the web and cell phone.

Happy Fathers Day!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not a dad, but we just reached the "free internet" platform on our Princess cruises, and I can't wait to sail on Princess again!

Best wishes to you and your decision! I've only recently gotten an ipad, and I love it!:)

However, my cell phone gets very little use.
