Did anyone see this programme last night, it was very disturbing, I did not see it all only turned it on to watch something else, and caught the last 10/15mins. At first, well for the first min or so I thought they were real babies, it was a very strange and bizarre thing, grown women basically playing with babies and spending hundreds of pounds adopting them! They dressed them in designer clothes and drove them around in baby car seats and even took them for walks in prams!!!! :confused3

OMG!!!! :scared1: I saw this a few weeks ago and am still reeling from the horror of it!!! Soooo bizarre!!! And weren't the poor men all freaked out by it - hardly surprising... :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

ive not seen it, my friends gave me chapter and verse though ;)

very disturbing !!

I saw somthing about this on Richard & Judy last night, and I thought it was weird and sad that these women had nothing in their life but these dolls - what a shame

It was definitely one of the most macabre things I've ever seen! One of the women wanted a fake baby to recreate her baby grandson for her. I spent ages thinking he'd suffered some terrible fate but no, he'd moved with his mother and step-dad to New Zealand!!! And was no longer even a baby - now that's just strange... :sad2: She was the lady who was strapping the dubious dolly into a car seat at the end of the prog...

Another woman went to the US to pick up her 'new addition' and was all kinds of bonding - until she saw a flaw and didn't want the imperfect infant in her life! She actually confessed she preferred the fake babes as they didn't mess up/grow out of their designer clothes... So that's where I went wrong!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao:

How dare children grow up, make a mess, answer back, and turn into TEENAGERS !! :scared1: :scared1: (and I wouldn't have mine any other way :thumbsup2 )

I did watch this, i heard all about a few weeks ago so thought i would give it a watch, and have to say my hand was over my mouth in shock through most of it, i felt quite ill when i was watching her do the baby hair and seeing all the body parts, and even more nauseous when i saw that woman throw £294 down the drain on Roberto Cavalli. I could understand if they were grieving over a lost child or something had happened, but this was just disturbing. And what were the men thinking being so accepting of this habit? I mean the husband actually walked round Harrods helping her choose stuff!!!

I have to say though, and heres my confession, the thought did cross my mind that maybe other people thought my disney habit was just as horrifying, the money i spend to get my fix and how I talk to those characters and spend thousands to do it, anyone else feel uncomfortable yet?:rotfl2: Frying pan to fire anyone? lol

I sky + ed this last night as dh said it wasn't his thing, just tried to watch it and turned it off after 15 mins feeling phsically sick,it's just wrong I have a ds3 and watching him grow up, play and talk is the most rewarding think about having a child.

lol have to admit i have one of these dolls, reborns, but i do not dress it up and push it round,!! im not that sad
i like porclin dolls and it was just an extension of that, it looks nice, i was a bit miffed abut the programme. wierd

It was the most bizarre thing i have ever seen and probably ever will see.
It reminded me of the one that was on a while ago with the real women dolls for the men URRRgh it takes allsorts.

I think it's just a case of anything for a quiet life, TBH! I imagine the woman who was buying all the designer outfits/accessories could give any man hell in private - she was very ...er... determined!!! ;) And the depressed grandmother who wanted a baby replica of her overseas grandson IMO needed grief therapy so her DH was probably keen to try anything that might make her happy - tho' did you notice how he was truly spooked when the fake baby came 'home'!!! :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

I Watched This When It Was On A Few Wks Ago & I Say

"Each To There Own"

Maybe If There Was A Documentary Made About The Money I Spent On Vacations To Disney:rotfl: :rotfl: Would Folk Think I Was "Sick":confused3 :confused3

I felt really sorry for her, she had cared for her grandson whilst her DD recovered from cancer then they left for NZ, she was missing the boy so much - even her DH said she wasn't well when he was sitting outside in the car, and when she showed him the finished product he confessed that he didn't like, didn't agree with it and it looked like something that belonged in a morgue!

She was hilarious, before she flew to the states it become clear that she had had a number of these reborns and she was talking about going out shopping for the new baby and she was asking her DH if he could recall an outfit she had bought for one of her "boys" and when he wore it on a particular day out - DH looked at her as if she was an out and out fruit cake!
When she discovered in the states that her new baby was damaged she said "Oh but look, she still smiling even though she's so hurt"......

Well, if I were ever to divulge how much of DH's hard-earned finds it's way into the Disney vaults, I'd definitely be the subject of a weirdo documentary on a Channel 4 !!! If it ever happens, just remember, I'm taking the rest of you down with me... :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2:

The grandmother of the little boy has 8 other grandchildren living in England which the program didn't mention. it is very odd how she is grieving for this living boy. :confused3

Thanks for that Karen ;)

I thought it was a little odd but each to their own. I suppose I can kind of see that lonely people might get something out of it, I talk to my dog all the time and dh thinks thats bonkers!! :upsidedow

I watched it a few weeks ago and didn't know whether to laugh or cry :rotfl: The woman who spent a fortune in Harrods was just bonkers I couldn't believe her DH allowed her to spend that much on basically dolly clothes. I did feel very sorry for the Grandma as she had brought up her Grandson and then he was taken away, but must admit I thought the little boy had died!

I did think my DD would like one though as she loves her dollies :rotfl:

I felt the producers led you to believe that, didn't they?
When, at the very end of the programme she introduced the reborn to the little boy, her grandson over her webcam my jaw dropped to the floor.
