I stumbled upon this show recently. What a sweatheart David is! Basically, what happens, is David visits a bride 3 weeks before her wedding. He takes it from "average" to platimum! The brides (that I've seen) have all been so nice and appreaciative.

DD and I love this show. We DVR it and usually watch it on Sunday afternoons after an episode or two of Bridezillas.

If I'm not mistaken, he has also designed some of Disney's Fantasy weddings as well. He makes me want to get married all over again. I wonder how DH would feel about that. :rotfl2:

I just saw this show for the first time this weekend. I used to love his Party Planner show a while back, so I wanted to watch this.
In the first few minutes of watching I didn't think I was going to like it! At first I felt really bad for the bride - she had picked her dress and David was like "no way is she wearing that!" (out of her earshot, of course). It started to turn around for me when he showed kindness in how he presented the idea of her wearing the new dress. He also kept saying that he had the final say on decisions, but in both episodes he ended up picking the dress/hairstyle that each bride loved the most, which made me happy. I hated to see those brides get stepped on/ put down over their sense of style (or lack-there-of as David would think), but he was very kind and gentle in his approach to changing things around and the weddings were just beautiful!!

:lovestrucLove this show!!! What a great thing for the bride and groom to get their dream wedding.

I had no idea who David Tutera was until I happened upon this show a few weeks ago. I adore him!

I was surprised to find out that he was the party planner who backed out of the final challenge on The Apprentice with Joan Rivers and Annie Duke.

I have only watched 2 episodes but I liked the fact that he was very respectful to the girls. He hepled them without insulting them. Nice change on reality TV.

I think they're trying to do some damage control after his appearance on Celebrity Apprentice. Joan Rivers and David did NOT get along and she really bad-mouthed him. He may have been difficult, but I think she took it too far.

I watched him long before the Celebrity Apprentice thing. He has always been very respectful to the brides.

I'd be tempted to plan a really tacky wedding for my DD and submit it to the show just to get him to do her wedding. Most people could not afford the wedding he ultimately puts together.

I watched Celebrity Apprentice and don't remember him on it.

Love it! I am DVRing it, and watching one right now, actually! :rotfl:

It was when they had to design a space to sell items for a chartiy. Initially, David was assigned to Joan's team to help with the design for the space. She and David did not see eye to eye on the design. He told her he would not help because she brought in another designer that she had worked with before. The other team got angry because he refused to work with them as well because of his little tiff with Joan.
