I had 5 day hoppers last week, and DD and I decided we needed an extra day. I bought our tickets from Undercover Tourist about 3 weeks ago (and saved about $50 per ticket). First we went to Guest Relations at the International Gateway at Epcot (on our way in from the Boardwalk). The girl there scanned my ticket and said it would be $72 each to add one more day. I asked her if she knew how to price bridge, and she basically said she had no idea what I was talking about.

Never mind, I told her, and proceeded to go to Guest Relations by Spaceship Earth. Found a nice older gentleman, who asked me what I needed. I said I needed to add an extra day to my ticket, but wanted to talk to someone who knew how to bridge the price of a partially used ticket. He looked at me and said, "Of course I can do that". And it was $10 to add the day!

Some cast members don't really know what is up with tickets!

That's why it is important to know what your cost will be BEFORE you add to a ticket! Many have reported this exact problem. Glad you realized and did not dole out the $72 per ticket:thumbsup2

That's great, glad it worked out right for you! :thumbsup2 And, that's exactly what the CM said to me at that same location in Dec when we wanted upgrade to AP's, "Of course I can do that", lol! Though it wasn't the same man, the CM we had was younger, and he seemed surprised we were even asking. I am surprised that those CM's who do know how to do the tickets and price bridging correctly, don't realize how so many do not know how to do that.

Was this the first day you used the tickets? You need to enter a park with them first so you lock in the gate price.

I had the same issue at the Int'l Gateway. She was trying to charge me not only the difference in what I paid UT and the upgrade, but she was trying to charge me for the discount UT received, too. They can see on the computer what that ticket originally cost them. I have typically had better luck at MK than the other parks when I am requesting a ticket be bridged. The last time I had a problem, the CM at MK was able to see who I had talked to at DAK and was going to have the manager talk to him. They said there was a obviously a training issue.

No, it was our fifth day (so we still had that day but were adding another). I totally knew what I was doing.

Is it then $20 to add two days? Just want to know what I'm doing before I get there. Dd has an expiring 7 day hopper, but we decided to add 3 nights to our stay...so she needs 2 more days added. And of course I bought them thru UT. So, use the hopper, then add the addtl 2 days after a few days. Right? What would the cost be?

Yes, $10 per day, per ticket. Plus 6.5% tax.

Here is the new rule in effect if you bought discounted tickets after the Feb 2014 price increase. This information came for the allearsnet website

Last week, we became aware of an apparent unannounced change in Disney's policy regarding tickets that were purchased from non-Disney sources. Several guests reported that when they attempted to add a day to a Magic Your Way ticket purchased from a non-Disney source, they were refused and told that they would have to spend more than $100 for a single-day ticket. Several tried at both their resort concierge and at a guest relations window and were told the same thing.

We called the Disney Ticketing office and and spoke to a supervisor. We were told that commencing with last week's price increase "third-party tickets can no longer be upgraded to passes at a pro-rated rate, have days added, or have options added at a discount." A different call to a second Disney source confirmed this, but added that this does not affect AAA.

On the basis of all that, we changed our ticket FAQ to reflect what we believed to be the new policy. We expect that we will learn of policy refinements as time passes, and will keep watching the situation and listening to our readers' comments about any problems or successes they have had in this area. - March 3, 2014

Update March 5, 2014: This apparent policy change affects tickets bought from third-party sellers by guests who may be hoping to avoid an increase in gate ticket prices. The change requires you to pay the difference between the old ticket and the new ticket first, before any upgrade. We have no information yet on how Disney will separate those ticket purchases from ones that were made prior to the latest increase or how many previous price increases may be affected.

So if you bought your tickets before the Feb 23 price increase you will be able to bridge the tickets. Those who purchased after will have to pay full regular price being offered that day.

I'm sorry, but there is a HUGE thread on here dedicated to this supposed "change in policy." Many, many Disboarders have reported being able to upgrade after AllEars made this announcement, so it's generally considered to be misinformation.

ETA: You'll also notice that the OP added her day and received the benefit of price bridging after the supposed "change in policy."
