My experience with a tour of Cars Land!

Wow great experience! Yeah Flos sound like a hit! I have lots of plans just to find a seat order a pie or a beer and just watch the cars run around the mountain range! I heard about the outside seating before, but I wasnt sure would it be the same area where you can see the track or would it just be at the entrance the concept art in the past has showed, but so far has not heard if that is still happening. Do you know if there will be outside seats at the entrance as well?

As for the mountain range, yeah there are no words to describe it. Anyone who has been to Tokyo DisneySea before and has been to Mysterious Island where the volcano section lies already has seen a peak of what CL will be like as you enter. Afterall, the same guy who did the rock work for DisneySea is the same one for Carsland! ;)

But honestly it sounds like its going to be amazing. The RSR ride is getting great reviews so far as well! I cant wait and hard to believe its less than 3 weeks now!

Thank You so much for taking the time to share with us!! :goodvibes
I cannot wait to eat at Flo's! The whole new land sounds like my kind of place, I remember driving across country as a kid, and being on Route 66...
Hopefully will bring back some wonderful memories!!

Thank you for sharing all you have so far! I'm eagerly awaiting the rest of your report!!!

Can't wait (for more of your report and my visit in 2 1/2 weeks!)

Thanks for reporting back to us.

Sounds like it's going to be amazing!! I'll be there in 72 days... not that I'm counting!

I’m surprised by the heavy comfort food of the V8 menu. I was expecting more of burger and shake menu like the classic 50’s drive-in.

Did you get to ride any of the three rides?

Everything they had told us beforehand made it clear we would not be able to ride anything. However, there was a special surprise at the end... And we all got to ride Mater's Junkyard Jamboree! I'll talk more about it later I want to go in order so I don't miss anything :goodvibes

So after Flo's we headed across the street to the Cozy Cone Motel. Here, Sally serves up everything that to do with "cones"... Plus some churros.

Anything you want to order comes from a separate cone. There's churro bites with cinnamon-spiced chocolate dipping sauce, pop"cone", chili "cone" carne, and frozen "cone"coctions.

The popcorn cone will sell two varieties of flavored popcorn everyday. Pretzel bites will be sold at the frozen drinks cone. And a special "Pair of Dice" drink will be sold at the cone with the churros. The chili cone carne cone will also serve chicken verde and two breakfast scrambles, all in a cone.

There's a recent Disney Parks Blog about the food offerings at Cozy Cone here.

Basically the theme here is cones. Even the lights will be cones (they weren't installed yet). There will be seating here too, at picnic-bench style tables with umbrellas shaped like... Wait for it... Cones!

While I think this area is perfectly themed to the movie, and really does look like the Cozy Cone Motel, I'll admit, it isn't my favorite. I like Flo's better. It just seems more fun. Also, I can see this ordering system being a nightmare. What if one kid wants a churro and one wants a pretzel? Or you want some popcorn and a cool frozen beverage? You'd have to wait in a separate line for each item.

Again, I understand, as each cone is on the small side and wouldn't be able to handle making everything. And on paper I like the idea of each cone being specialized. I just see it not really working out, particularly for larger families who might want different snacks.

After that we crossed the street over to Luigi's Flying Tires.

Of course everything here is tires... Even the architecture.

When you enter the queue you enter Luigi's showroom. Tires are EVERYWHERE. Now, his brand is called "Fettuccine Alfredo" and this is embossed on all the different styles of tires.

Kathy said, "You know, it only takes one graphic designer not to know how to spell 'alfredo'... " While we were there, people were working on all the tires because EVERY SINGLE ONE said "Fettuccine Alfreado" rather than Alfredo. I would NOT want to be the guy who did that!!

After walking through his showroom you head into his office, where he has pictures and autographs of some of the famous racers he admires. Then you head outside, where the "Festival of the Flying Tires" is taking place!

Kathy said the attraction is based on the Flying Saucers but with some upgraded technology (still basically floating around on air like on an air hockey table). She also expects it to be a big hit with guests... Popular with every age group and just a fun environment all the way around. There ARE big beach balls that you're supposed to play with and throw around.

It does look fun. Fun Italian music, lights all around that are sure to be beautiful at night, and just a general air of celebration. But I'm not so excited about the ride itself. I'm not a big bumper car fan and I HATE when people break out the beach balls at sporting events. But that's really just my personal preference.

And like I said, the atmosphere sure seems like it will be happy and fun here.

I'm looking forward to your SURPRISE, and hearing about the Junkyard Jamboree...
Thanks again!:thumbsup2

Well I'm glad the seating isn't shaped like cones. You had me worried there for a second.

Thanks for the report! I'm looking forward to hearing about your ride.

Time for some square dancing!

I'll admit, I wasn't really looking forward to this ride, but was pleasantly surprised.

We made our way over there and met up with the second group. My friend and I didn't make it on the first ride so we got to watch on first. The ride definitely reminds me of the ladybug on over in Bug's Land but on a larger scale. There's two sides to the ride, but both are the same. Tractors sit on three circles, and as they switch circles, the trailer whips around the side.

I had assumed it would be more like those rides that go around and around in a circle and constantly squish you into the side. But here, it's really more of a whipping motion. So you whip around, and then straighten out, before whipping around again, but towards a different side.

Also, Mater sings all the square-dancing songs. He even does the Spanish safety spiel, which was pretty funny.

I really ended up loving this ride. I could not stop smiling the whole time! And I'm a 23 year old girl. So I think that if teens will actually get on this ride, they'll have a good time.

One other thing to note, since we didn't make it on the first go round, there were only one or two other pairs of guests on our ride. So all the "suits" from the tour... Blog writers, photographers, security... rode with us. It was definitely interesting riding with everyone all dressed up in professional clothing!!

Sounds like they should rename it to Conehenge. ;)

Thank you for sharing your experience! Not sure how I could be any more excited, but I am! :)

Thank you for your report and your experience sounds like a lot of the other reports I read about that event, all really postive mostly. Flo seems like a huge hit and nearly everyone cite how much fun Mater's is! So if RSR is a huge hit, this place will be popular for a long time.

But I agree with you about Cozy Cones! It sounds like a great idea on paper, but I do think it will get frustrating because there is SO many great things to try there and if you have a family of five, chances are not everyone is going want the same thing which means either A. You have to stand in multiple lines which will get very frustrating or B. Have different people stand in different lines or C. Just limit it to the one stall. I'm sure they have thought about this, but we'll see if they make any changes if this does become a problem.
