My experience this morning with the 40% off code...

Okay I know you all are sick of people asking but one more question;)

I had the pin attatched to my name without knowing so I was able to book a sweet package. I called my sis to tell her and she asked if I would be willing to take her daughter. We already have five in our room so I will need to add an additional room to our package. With all the speculation I am nervous about changing my reservation. So the question is should I call and try to change my res. or will I lose it?:confused3

THanks so much guys, April

If you legitimately have the pin code associated.. You should have no fear of changing your reservation.

I have changed my reservations for two seperate trips several times with the code. I have the postcard and no worries about the code. When I called today to try to maybe upgrade one they were willing to do it and keep the discount. I don't think you should have any problems with making changes as long as you have the legitimate offer. So change away.

thanks. I did not receive a post card but was told I had a pin atatched to my dh's name. But they did not tell me the pin so I will not be able to give it to them again. Hopefully it stays in the system.

I will call tomorrow and find out.

i did recieve the mailing, with the little spin thing in the center, offering 40% off stays during select weeks at disney. we called, spoke to the cm, he didnt ask for a code, just asked for name, telephone # and address. said yepp, looks like you have a code for 40% off, when did you want to stay with us...blah blah blah, long story short... at the end of the conversation, he did tell me to make sure and bring the post card/flyer with me upon check in that they may ask for it. :confused3

not sure, either way, I do plan on having it with me during check in...i would HATE to have a not so magical moment upon arrival.

In all the stays I've had with AP discounts over the years, not once was I asked to show my AP pass at check in. With all the confusion about codes, pins, etc., how would the CM at check in know what to look for? It sounds like they are just as confused as we are.

I was asked to show my AP just this past Dec at Pop

My feeling is, if Disney is indeed gong to deny the price with the code, they're going to have to call.

Imagine all the problems they'd be having at checkins this year with this code fiasco. It would cause too many scenes.

Thats what you hope:mad:

What is the code?

I got a post card after I booked my last trip and I was able to apply the code to my existing ressie. I am planning another trip for November, but no postcard so far. Maybe I will just call?

We had to verify some information on our package today, and the CM said the same thing to us.

I called and booked our trip yesterday. I asked If I had a code and she said yes. I asked her what it was - the "Z" one. I asked where she sees this and she said that in the beginning when she was asking my address and stuff, that the code is actually on the address page, showing that it was sent to me. I never received anything though. But, they did have my old email in the system, which she changed, so I am wondering if it had been sent there. Thought I would share. We are going 6/2-6/7 All star sports, 6 day base tix, dining, with insurance for $1560.

i booked w/out acode and they told me it was under my name already 6 nts and 7 days concierge at the poly 4000.00n was 6000.00 i was shocked hopper and dining included

So i called and spoke with CM Diane, who was immensely helpful, and she helped me book a package. My original request was for All Star Movies package to keep costs low hoping for an email or postcard code to use later on. So everything was booked and i was about to hang up when i asked her to check Animal Kingdom for me. So she checked and told me the rate. $215 a night. So then i said, "what about codes for that time period?" and she said "well we don't show any for you" which i quickly interrupted and said "no, i have a code i'd like for you to try and use" which she quickly said "oh ok." Without me even tellling her the code she said, "well we do have a code ***" for that time period which we can try" and i politely said "oh ok." So she punched it in and gave me a 6 night AKL at $182 Savannah room view w/bunk beds. I'll eventually change that to 2 queen beds, but at least i'm in with the code which will not be removed as long as i do not cancel the reservation. WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tip:

Just make your phone call and get to the end with a price quote. Right before you hang up, ask if they can try to use a code on the package or room-only reservation. If they ask, then provide it to them. In my case, they were very well aware of it and seems they can use it as an upsell, but it appears some CM's have to be coaxed into using it. It's better for someone to pay rack rate than to give them a code for obvious business reasons. But it seems that once they are confronted with the code issue, they are willing to help...at least from the posts from other members on this board, some/most of the time. Good Luck:goodvibes
