I have a cancelled May 2021 DCL cruise so does anyone know if DCL have refunded yet so my agent can switch it to the WBPC 2022 which I already have booked?
I also wanted placeholders of Sept 2021 switched to August 2021 Northern European in the remote chance that this might sail.
I’m guessing that maybe Dreams agents might not all be working right now as I have emailed quite a few times without receiving answers?

Try contacting John@DreamsUnlimitedTravel.com

I have received my refund (taxes and fees) and FCC from a DCL May cancelled cruise. If your DU agent is not responding you should reach out to John@DreamsUnlimitedTravel.com and/or find a new TA. Any TA can apply your FCC to a new cruise. It does not need to be your original TA. I am not sure though about the placeholder discounts. Hopefully, you will be able to resolve the problem soon.

Oh thank you for this info. I was wondering if DCL hadn’t issued the refunds yet but looks like they have.
I’ll email John and just check what the situation is and see if he can look into it for me.

The poster said that the WBPC had already been booked. I assume that it was booked using their Dreams TA, and they would not be able to assign it to a new TA
Yes I’ve used this TA for years that’s why I was wondering if maybe in this current climate only a few were working full time or maybe they are only dealing with urgent matters or maybe they aren’t well. I don’t want to get anyone into trouble but it’s frustrating to just not get responses to multiple emails.

Apologies, I did not pick up on that the cruise was "already" booked. I should read more attentively before replying.

Whether they are working full time or not, if they are the agent assigned to your booking, they should be providing service in a professional manner, whether they deem your matter "urgent" or not.

If you sent multiple emails within a single 24-hour period and are crabbing because you didn't get a response, that would be a bit crazy on your part. But if you've sent multiple emails over the course of a few weeks and didn't get a response of any kind? That's just not cool.

If they did have some kind of emergency where they couldn't have asked someone else to cover for them, then contacting John will not get that person in trouble. If they are just not being responsive for no valid reason, you are well within bounds to contact John. He'd probably want to know about that.

It’s funny how I feel frustrated but mean all at the same time.
it’s hard when over the years you feel as if you have established a rapport with someone , so you don’t want to go behind their back but I’ll give it until Wednesday which is two weeks waiting for some kind of communication and having received none since the earlier one saying as soon as DCL refunded the changes would be applied.
I hope that’s fair.

It's also possible that your emails are somehow just now going into their spam folder, so they didn't see them. Good luck.

That's plenty fair. And it's not "going behind their back" if you've given them plenty of chances to handle themselves and they didn't do it. All is takes is, like, 30 seconds to send an email back stating "It's crazy getting through to DCL right now, but I am on it, and will email again once I have it fixed."

All that said, life happens, and there may be a very valid reason they have not gotten back to you (as @soniam said, e-mail snafus, or a death in the family, for example), so you don't have to trash them when emailing John. But you have issues that you need settled that involve your money.

So regardless of the reasons behind the drop-off in communication, you are still well within bounds to reach out to someone else in order to get your affairs squared away.

If it makes you feel any better, you could send them one last email today to the effect of "It seems like you have a lot on your plate right now, but I need to get this taken care of, or at least know what the status is. So if I don't hear from you by Wednesday, I will reach out to John and see if he can take care of it for me."

If they are in the middle of a life crisis, then you might be doing them a favor. But if they don't have any good reason for the drop-off in communication, they probably don't want that news getting back to John.

Well thank you. I don’t feel so bad now.
It’s not just applying my May refund to the 2022 WBPC it’s also a name change of the person sailing with me and twice now I’ve submitted all the details to the TA., but nothing has been done.
Then I have two rooms booked on a September cruise which I know that I’m not taking which I’ve asked to be transferred onto an August 2021 cruise which I’m doubtful will sail but hoping against hope that it might, and again this email hasn’t even been acknowledged so I re-sent it Friday but nothing so far.
I mean maybe none of it is urgent but I’d accept just a hey I’ve got your emails and am busy but will work on them soon.

Exactly. Again, that takes 30 seconds to write. And it shouldn't take 10 days (and counting) to send out.

Maybe (s)he really did have a personal emergency, but I'd have to think that there are protocols in place for someone else at DU to "pick up the ball" in cases like that.

I’m pleased I posted now because it has clarified that it’s a bit off just not to hear anything.
I just feel like I’m being a nuisance and I get that times are hard especially for cruise TA’s who work on commission once you’ve taken the cruise, but that’s not my fault either. There’s nothing I’d like more than to be able to sail just like everyone on here.

As a former DU agent, I can say if I hadn't replied to a client after 2 weeks of them trying to contact me, I would want to be made aware. I would never have purposely not replied after that long and while I can't speak for every agent of course, I can't imagine any of them purposely ignoring emails like that. If for some reason they are missing the emails or thought they replied but didn't, I'm sure they would want to know, in which case, contacting John as mentioned above would be the way to go. Also, if there is another more serious reason they couldn't reply, family emergency, illness, etc... John can certainly help you out there too. Good luck!

Thank you.
I don’t feel so mean now, because I thought that maybe I was making a fuss about nothing. I’m just not sure what’s going on.
I’ll update when I have news.

For a little while recently, I wasn’t receiving answers from our Dreams Unlimited TA as well. It turned out to be a technical problem.

I’m not sure, but it seems like either Dreams Unlimited may have updated something with their email system or my email providers changed something. I was using an email alias that gets forwarded to my actual inbox. But for a while, our TA’s email responses were not arriving in my inbox nor my spam folder of that email account. I am guessing that the email forwarder for the alias may have been filtering the emails.

I resolved the problem by switching to using the actual email address of the inbox rather than the alias. Since then, we haven’t had trouble getting email from the TA.

Just in case you are experiencing something similar, I would recommend checking your spam folder and/or including an alternate email address in your email communications to respond to.
