I ordered an Elsa dress from the Disney Store online last Tuesday at 2:22am CST. Then about 15 minutes later I decided to order another one for my niece. Both my packages just arrived & one of the boxes had an EXTRA Elsa dress in it! I checked the packing slip & it only says one dress & I checked the other packing slip & it says only one dress. I got checked my bank account to see if they charged for both & NOPE! I heard about this happening to a lot people who pre-ordered the movie & some other Frozen items. No wonder they don't have items in stock because they are sending out to many.

With as hard as it is to find one of these dresses, it must have been a surprise to find the extra one. Hopefully, this mistake isn't occurring often since the dress is in such high demand and if it does, hopefully people are sending them back.

That is nuts! Wonder how many "extras" were shipped that way? It's like you won the lottery! LOL

I tried calling them, but was on hold more 45 minutes & then just hung up. I sent them an email & waiting for a response. It's a size 7/8 & that I have another niece that it would fit, but first I want to try getting a hold of Disney. My niece may not even want it. I am going to call a local Disney Store & see what they say.

I ordered some stuff last Christmas and had a Minnie mouse scarf included in my order that was not supposed to be. Sadly, it had a name embroidered on it and it was not the same name as either of my dd's.

Last year around Christmas I had a couple of orders that had extra things in them. Some of them seemed to be stuff that had been on clearance that didn't sell as I couldn't find them on the website. I think I got a cup w/straw, a girl's night gown and a men's shirt that said something like "I am your father" relating to Toy Story. Haven't had anything since though.

I just called the local Disney Store about it & said to try getting a hold of them again. If they don't email me back then we just have an extra dress. The local store said normally they don't have the item shipped back because its to much trouble especially an item that was sold out. For the lucky customer to enjoy the freebie. What bothers me is this was some little girls dress & now they don't have it. I was all excited at first like winning the lottery (lol), but then reality sank in that some little girl doesn't get a dress. ;(

But on the bright side you can make a little girl's year (and probably her parents too) by passing on a free Elsa dress :thumbsup2. Not your fault if Disney won't take it back.

This is very true! I would just give it to someone because I couldn't ever bring myself to sell something on Ebay 5X 's the price.

That is true about the Disney store not having you ship items back when its their error. About 6 yrs ago I ordered a snow globe after the one we bought at WDW was confiscated at MCO by the TSA. When it came, it wasn't a snow globe, but a Mickey hoodie instead. I called them and they said to keep it and they OVERNIGHTED me a snow globe! Fortunately, the hoodie fit my youngest daughter and she got several years wear out of it!

Sounds like you did everything you could to try to return it but they don't want you to. So, sure, pay it forward! Pass that dress along to someone who really wants it!

Crazy thought - do you think Give Kids the World would accept it? Of course if you have someone in your family who would want it I'd say do that.

Well, if your niece doesn't want it, I would be more than happy to pay you for it and postage to take it off your hands!!

My sweet girl is having having her 4th birthday party ( Frozen of course)next weekend and we still have NO ELSA DRESS!!! I would love to take it off your hands if you are looking!!!

I am actually helping my sister set something up at a children's cancer hospital near us to give them an extra Elsa dress we have in a different size (5/6).

I was thinking...about these sickening prices on eBay...didn't Disney once have a policy in which folks couldn't sell their products for over price value? Couldn't remember...too bad they don't do that now! Just think of all the happy little girls who would then magically have their wishes granted if Disney would shut them down ;)

I'm sure you're going to find another deserving little girl :goodvibes

OP, I posted this question on another thread, but just in case you don't see it over there...how did you find out the Disney site would be releasing the dresses last week again? I don't mind to get up at 2 a.m. once to get a dress for my little girl, but to hunt each night at 2 a.m. not knowing when/if they will release them won't work out with me getting up to go to work each day. Please tell me you didn't randomly check every night at 2 in the morning. I don't think I can do that. Just hoping to find a way to get an idea of when their next release will be. Thanks for the help!

That happened to me with an American Girl item. I called them and they told me to donate it to Toys for Tots. Good for you for being honest about it! Integrity isn't everywhere nowadays.

The one we are trying to donate is one that we accidentally ordered two of. We both ordered one for our niece. (I have 5 nieces!) We could return it & get our money back, but we are going to make a "Let It Go" care package for a little girl to "Let It Go" all the hard times like Elsa & become healthy & strong again.

I have to be honest the temptation of keeping an extra Elsa dress that everyone was wanting was hard to resist at first thought, but I just couldn't do it.

I finally talked to Disney Store online CM (after a few attempts) just a few minutes ago & they will have UPS come pick it up because of limited stock. That way the little girl who it was ordered for can receive it & won't receive a cancellation. I know I did nothing wrong, but now I feel like my conscience is clear. lol
