My EARful Tower

Your EARful tower looks great, as does your layout! Very nice!

Are you sure you don't need an N scale WDW monorail on the layout too? ;)

Have NEVER seen an N scale WDW monorail before. Where to get? Afraid it would not really fit in with the period though but would look good on a shelf.

When I put the Disney "D" on the tower I told my wife I had to name the town something that began with D. Shortly before I did the tower, they had announced the Disney Springs refurb so, since my town was kind of 30's, 40's, I called my town "Dimentia Springs - the town that time forgot (an I do know the Dimentia is normally spelled "de").

My billboard:

I like the sign! :) That's part of the fun of modeling, we get to add all kinds of references to things we like.

The monorail is based on the $5 Disney N scale spring-powered toy sold at WDW shops. I take everything out of the shell, install a new chassis with radio/motor/battery and run it on 5mm wide plastic beam. My small (shelf) monorail layout should be working in a month or so, I will post photos.

I tried to get the forum moderators to add a board for Disney modeling but there must not be enough interest yet. I know there are a lot of us, maybe we can get our own board soon.

Mandatory photography content - photography is also a large part of the fun of modeling.

Thanks. Will be back down at the park in a couple of weeks (I live in Indiana but work part time - about 18 to 20 weeks a year - at Magic Kingdom). Will have to pick one or 2 up and do some work on them. Just what I need is something else to work on.

I always wanted to do a train layout but just never could get around to it (RC helicopters, control line airplanes and electric gliders - among other things) as just no real free time. Got out of the heli's and couldn't believe how much more time and money I had left. Kind of quit both of the airplane stuff and took up RC sailboats. Much more relaxing and less expensive, so had time to do the train.

Getting ready, ordered but not yet here, to add one of these, the 7 UP billboard specifically, to one of the building roofs:

Merging the old and the new: DisneyTown station, where the monorail and the steam train share a platform.

Main Street station paper model needs some work. Maybe in a year or two I will have a layout that looks as good as yours... maybe... ;)
