We are going on the DxDDP Plan. It will be me, DH, and DD6. I haven't been to Disney in 5 years and DH and DD6 have never been. The characters are a huge in her eyes and I would rather sit and eat and let them come around then wait in long lines the whole trip.

So what does everyone think?

I honestly understand your desire to have your little one meet as many characters as possible.

But......personally, I think you will all be sick of character meals by the end of the trip. I've done up to five with my kids and by the end of the week, even the kids were asking if they had to go to another character meal.

I was sooo disappointed, as I'd worked so hard to get all those ADR's - but I was secretly glad, as I was getting tired of never having an uninterrupted meal where I didn't have to get up and take pictures and tell my kids to hurry and eat their dessert as Goofy was coming. You get the picture...

Also, I think you will be spending alot of time trying to make it from point A to point B in time for your next meal. I also think you will be completely stuffed by the end of the day.

Others of course, may have different opinions, but if I were you, I would take the opportunity on your Sci Fi night when your DD is at the club and do a signature meal. Opt for a counter service meal as one of your other choices that day.

On your last day, I think princesses for breakfast and lunch might be a bit much as well.

Oooh, I just went back and read this and it looks harsh! I really don't mean it that way at all, just don't want you to be disappointed or feel chained to your ADR's. So, if you are happy with it, then by all means - go for it. Just have a back up plan if your family decides they just want a burger and fries!

Your DD is a very lucky little girl!

I think that Wed & your last day you will feel like rolling from one place to the next, especially since those are all-u-can eat meals. We generally do 2 TS meals a day --late breakfast & early dinner or early lunch & late dinner (I have a teenager, early breakfast isn't happening ;) )

Did you realize that on Friday, you will go from AK to Epcot to MGM all in one day?? Plus, your Sci-Fi ADR is VERY late - at least it would be for my kids and they're 5 and 6. Also, on Sunday you have 2 princess meals booked - I honestly think that's a bit over the top. We did 4 character meals on our last trip and by the end, it wasn't even "fun" anymore. The kids already had all the autographs and met all the character so I'd have rather done a nicer, quieter meal. We will be doing the regular DDP because the DxDDP is just WAY to much planning and running from one ADR to another.

Oh not harsh at all! :) My DH actually requested Sci Fi after my mom told him about it. :headache: I just don't think DD will like the movie clips. In fact I right now can predict nightmares if she comes. Kids don't really understand campy and she is easily frightened.

He and I are really more ride people and the whole point of having DD at Neverland is to hit the bigger rides together. I had him look over several menus and he honestly really didn't like the signature dinners. Crazy I know.

But I really thought about the whole too many character meals thing. I canceled LTT for the first night and booked CG an hour and 45 mins before Wishes (which might be too long but I don't know). DD will be with us but I think it is a nice way to start a trip and also since I have the extra time I am going to mention that I don't mind waiting longer for a window seat :goodvibes

Honestly I have gone back and forth about the double princess meals on the last day. I wanted Breakfast at CRT- booked, lunch- booked, so I decided on Norway breakfast. Later when making other ADR's I ask them to check on CRT and they had a lunch opening! I am a tad worried that my daughter will notice that the princess look "different" at lunch then at breakfast but DH thinks I am worried for nothing. Still I thought even though it is a lot of princess it might be a perfect way to end the trip.

Oh my DD will be at Neverland Club while we are at Sci Fi. The movie clips I think would scare her. DH and I plan to hit some of the bigger rides at MGM without her- ToT, RRC.

I don't know how much time we will spend at AK, my daughter is just not an animal person. We have a zoo pass and every time I take her she doesn't want to see any animals, just wants to play on the playground :headache: Actually we only have 3 must see for AK- KS, FotLK, and Nemo I am crossing fingers that we can get those done in time for a late lunch a Living Seas.

Honestly I don't know how much we will eat at these meals, I just like to think of them as rest breaks, see some characters, get off our feet, enjoy the AC ;) . I wish DD would sleep in, but honestly she drags me out of bed every morning at 5:30 am. I am looking forward to her lazy teenage years.

Subscribing- I want to see about the character meals you have planned and what people have to say.
Planning Disney for the GD when she turns 5 and we too were lanning a character meal each day.

The difference here-- you are going during a high peak time-
will you 6 year old be able to keep up?

Cinderella castle meal is only cinderella or is there other princesses?

We did the Norway one two years ago - it was really fun.

I really don't think you need to be an "animal person" to enjoy AK. There is so much to do and see there that really doesn't always involve animals. I'd rather take my time and savor the parks and everything around me rather than running from one ADR to another. But that's just us. I guess you do what is best for your family and what you believe your daughter will enjoy.
