My DSD came for a visit & didn't stay for our trip to WDW??? Update 1/13Kadani Villag

The kids look like the are really enjoying those missions!

I love the faces Jacob is pulling at the Garden grill! (Hope it wasn't his DS - as you say karma will get them if it was!)

Okay, Melissa, I’m gonna one-up ya: this is my fave pic of Jacob & Chip!

7718_1128395172861_1316648229_30329855_4825777_n.jpg

He’s just so cute!

7718_1128395212862_1316648229_30329856_1271255_n.jpg

I’m not sure what he was thinking when he grabbed the sweeteners, but it just enhanced the cuteness…

7718_1128395252863_1316648229_30329857_184551_n.jpg

Cheese! (just ignore the large frame of my DH...you should be used to my pictures by now)

7718_1128395292864_1316648229_30329858_4787577_n.jpg

Emily had to get into the pic…she was missing out!

7718_1128395332865_1316648229_30329859_5420265_n.jpg

I had a pic of Jonas, but it was pretty much the same one with Chip. And, Melissa, here’s what Jordan told me: Chip is the one with the Chocolate Chip nose. Here’s my other version: Dale is the one with Dale’s red nose. (her stepdad, Dale!)

As we went around the Garden…if you could call it that, because you go from jungle to desert, to farmland, to walls, to the hungry people, and back to the jungle…well, in the farmland place, you pass by the farmhouse. I was trying to get a picture of the inside of the second story window (because that was our height to it). You see the bar that keeps you from jumping over, then what I believe to be a weathervane, and isn’t that a spoon in the window? How did that happen??

7718_1128395412867_1316648229_30329861_118160_n.jpg

Here’s that face Jacob was making…is he tired of Mickey?

7718_1128395452868_1316648229_30329862_3843190_n.jpg

I think he is…

7718_1128395492869_1316648229_30329863_7753955_n.jpg

My kids are pleased as punch!! (Conchita Rosita snuck into this pic)

7718_1128395532870_1316648229_30329864_2162509_n.jpg

Here’s this story: this is actually another picture I promised someone – my boss. He wanted a picture of me and Mickey. Well, I thought I would enhance the picture and pretend to give him a kiss…my thought was on the cheek. But when I leaned it to pose, Mickey swung his nose around!! I was a bit startled, and tried to recover…!

7718_1128395572871_1316648229_30329865_2221363_n.jpg

Melissa…she loves this, doesn’t she?

7718_1128395612872_1316648229_30329866_6849508_n.jpg

Next is Dale…I think Jacob is more in tune with the ‘munks.

7718_1128395652873_1316648229_30329867_8053329_n.jpg

As is evident…!

7718_1128395692874_1316648229_30329868_6875848_n.jpg

Jordan gets a nice how-de-do from de dog…

7718_1128395732875_1316648229_30329869_287518_n.jpg

And this picture I LOVE!! Emily has put a french fry on Pluto’s tongue, and bursts out laughing super hard!!

Now I know why people do these TRs...it really makes you relive the moments! As I'm putting together our next day of pics and putting captions on them for FB, it's a hoot! Plus, I've been researching restaurants again, etc.

Thanks for reading our TR...although it's work, it's fun work.

:flower3:

Our next day began with a character breakfast (yes, we just did a character dinner!!) at 1900 Park Fare. Melissa and I both worked on these reservations, deciding on which meals and where, so this one sounded interesting, and she had never done it. She didn’t warn me about one of the characters.

Anyway, we got there before the Skinners did, so we took some time to look around. This is a pic of a birdhouse. No bird.

7718_1129618003431_1316648229_30332905_2859431_n.jpg

A much better, clearer pic of the lobby in the morning. And, in the background, someone imitating me.

7718_1129618043432_1316648229_30332906_3961063_n.jpg

This is one of my favorite pictures. I like the darkness, offset by the table lamps, along with the light coming in at the top around the chandelier. Yes, that’s a giant birdcage on the right. Someone pitch in and tell me “why.”

7718_1129618083433_1316648229_30332907_6987366_n.jpg

The entrance to 1900 Park Fare! We had met up with the Skinners by this time. I didn’t feel the need to snap their pic. But perhaps Melissa did….

7718_1129618123434_1316648229_30332908_2380225_n.jpg

We had a little bit of a wait, and people were crowded in around the little desk and past it. There was a photographer against the wall in the back, and apparently, you HAD to get your picture made before you could go in. That was fine with us. They took multiple pics of us, we were so good-looking. Meanwhile, I was getting a kick out of people trying to go into the one door they were using to let people in and out of, when they had not been called to be seated. They were promptly accosted and sent away. If I’m not mistaken, there were about 6 doors total, going into the dining room, but only one of the middle doors was used.

Finally, our turn had come. As we went in, it dawned on us that Jacob, who doesn’t eat much and needs something to occupy him, still didn’t have a DS…I think Melissa asked the host for paper and something to mark with. The host, who didn’t have such things readily available, made do and found a pen and paper for him. Great guy! Here he is, showing Jordan and Emily his pins.

7718_1129618163435_1316648229_30332909_1254098_n.jpg

I took a pic of the carousel horse, and managed to get Jonas’ head in it. I think it’s a bit artsy, don’t you?

7718_1129618203436_1316648229_30332910_4253633_n.jpg

Then, before we could breathe out and settle, here came Tigger!!

7718_1129618443442_1316648229_30332916_436869_n.jpg

We had just gotten something to drink and I think a few of us began to “buffet”, when Mary Poppins popped by!

7718_1129618523444_1316648229_30332918_1455698_n.jpg

Jordan imitates her stance!

7718_1129618603446_1316648229_30332920_7890126_n.jpg

Alice was acting very much the teenager as she picked over Jordan’s pins.

7718_1129618643447_1316648229_30332921_6409043_n.jpg

Oh, no… (doesn’t Melissa look like she knows something? I was ignorant at this point.)

7718_1129618683448_1316648229_30332922_3970478_n.jpg

He notices Jordan and says something…she’s wondering, what in the world? He’s loud. He’s obnoxious. He’s opinionated. And a little off-kilter.

7718_1129618723449_1316648229_30332923_2156300_n.jpg

What does he say to two little kids? I don’t remember. But it fell into the previous criteria I lined out a moment ago.

7718_1129618763450_1316648229_30332924_3729123_n.jpg

Emily’s face in this picture reflects her later comment to me, “His breath stunk.” He would pause ever so often and carefully make this intriguing face. If you’ll notice, Jacob had tuned him out a picture or so ago.

7718_1129618803451_1316648229_30332925_8059648_n.jpg

A change of pace…Pooh! Who doesn’t like sweet Pooh? Even Jacob is accommodating when Pooh picks up his pen…and draws a picture of himself on Jacob’s paper! What’s more – it’s a great picture!! (Maybe Melissa snapped a shot of it) Oh, btw, Pooh admired Jacob’s art – the kid has talent.

7718_1129618843452_1316648229_30332926_1846390_n.jpg

My DD with the character she grew up with.

You posted just as i was with the new update!

Looks like you had a fun meal - I really like the GG, and the food, but I don't mind thyme so it's good for me!

 About the boy with the 2 DSs, but I suppose some kids may have 2, if one of them was Jacob's then as you say, karma...

Di x

Yes Di, Karma.

"Mary Poppins occupied the desk across from Alice. Not sure why these two would ever occupy the same house…"
Someone has to look after the child. After all she did fall down the hole.
"we can do AKL concierge "
Oh my you will love the concierge here, They have a drink that is so good.
Looks like it wwas a good day so far. Great pictures. Can't wait for more.

:rotfl2:

Boy did I fall behind this week. But I'm all caught up now.

So the Garden Grill is just Mickey and Chip n Dale right?hmmmm

You all did quite a lot at Epcot, where the lines not so bad then? Love all the pictures. The pictures at Garden Grill looked like ya'll had a really good time.

Lines weren't too bad, but we used FP when we could and were there just after opening.

Wow another update, I can't keep up. Just noticed the siggy. SimmerBaggins we'll be in the world about the same time I suppose. We are going the 6th-12 of June at least that is the plan for now. We just got the ok from the football program that they won't be doing much in June so we can go whenever in June. So we decided on the second week in June...

Looks like we will have to meet up on the 6th because that is the only day we will be able to make it that way, unless we head up on the 10th when Jacob gets out of school. I'm going to be mad if I miss everybody.

Oh, wow, JPFamilyMom -- we'll have to find a way to "high-five" each other! :woohoo: Since Melissa's going to try to meet up with us on that weekend (she's still trying to figure it out), we could do a small Dis meet -- my first!

And, Melissa, I had forgotten about the French bakery conversation... :sad2:

...okay, back to laundry...will do that GG update on my end, soon...

:surfweb:

Can't believe you forgot about the bakery conversation. I think I was shocked because I guess I haven't heard Robert make comments like that, but men will be men won't they.

Hey Melissa!! :goodvibes

Love the pictures of Garden Grill. That's one restaurant I haven't seen many pictures of for some reason. It's on my list of places to try next time since I've heard good things about it (and I love thyme). :thumbsup2

I recommend it and am I the only person in the world that doesn't like thyme?

The kids look like the are really enjoying those missions!

I love the faces Jacob is pulling at the Garden grill! (Hope it wasn't his DS - as you say karma will get them if it was!)

I never know what face I will get when taking Jacob's pic. Love the photopass pics because those poor photographers try to get him to smile.

Now I know why people do these TRs...it really makes you relive the moments! As I'm putting together our next day of pics and putting captions on them for FB, it's a hoot! Plus, I've been researching restaurants again, etc.

Thanks for reading our TR...although it's work, it's fun work.

:flower3:

I like posting TR's because I might point something out to someone that didn't know about it. That's also why I read so many.

And Vickie, you actually got ahead of me, where have I been? And it is because of Di and Gordon's videos of the Madhatter that we ate at 1900 Park Faire. He really does do a great job.

Ok, now my turn to tell about the GF and 1900 PF.

Now this is the day Jonas was looking forward to so he could get some breakfast. He is a big breakfast eater, Jacob and I are not. For those that read my other TR and the disaster that was Chef Mickey's you understand why Jonas kept repeating, "Let's see if I get to eat this time."

We rode the bus to MK and then caught the Monorail.

It is so difficult seeing the MK and then not going in.

This was my first time in the GF, so I had to take lots of pictures.

All I can say is...WOW!!!

Next post is my update about our meal and the crazy intruder.

Here we are being shown to our seats:

Now, Vickie mentioned a family coming in. I watched it all go down. They just walked in and sat down. In a few minutes they were escorted out and I happen to go to the restroom with Vickie and the girls and noticed the family sitting on a bench outside. Guess they didn't realize you had to be escorted in. I would have been embarrassed. And it wasn't a family with little kids, it was all adults. Thanks for reminding me about that Vickie, that is one I had forgotten about.

As Vickie said, we started getting greeted before we could even get our food:

You can tell I wasn't using the flash, but I soon gave in and flashed away (I don't know how these poor characters can even see.)

Robert got in the act, so formal.

And I had to get my hug from Tigger:

That thing around my throat is my shades that Tigger accidentally knocked off my head.

Jonas had one request, besides eating his breakfast,

And I remembered the food porn:

Quick pic of the buffet from our table. We were pretty close the food which was nice.

Notice the t-shirts the family on the right have on. I loved them, each one had a number.

Tigger made another trip by:

And finally:

And then it was time for Pooh, this was him writing on Jacob's drawing. I was afraid Jacob would get upset:

And here is what he wrote:

And the group shot (Vickie doesn't have these yet, need to get that CD to her)

And, a quick video, sorry, a little hard to hear him:

So many things I want to comment on about your pics, Melissa!

1) too funny about the penny in Jacob's eye -- Jordan freaked over it when she first saw it!
2) I LOVE Jacob's self-portrait. It's like a picture into his soul! (Jordan couldn't figure out why his cheeks were so chubby!)
3) Love the Tigger shot with Jordan!
4) Why is Tigger feeling up my hubby?
5) Given different clothes, I think Jonas might actually pass for Bert!
6) Doesn't it look like Jacob's drawing is going to eat Pooh's?
7) How is it you got almost EXACTLY the same video of the Mad Hatter as I have??

:rotfl:

Great pics!!

I bet that was your son's DS -- really, how many kids have two? And why on earth would any child need two? That's just sad.

By the way, before I forget again, did anyone notice Vickie's sig? Yup, she is already booked for next Summer.:woohoo:

I know I live an hour away but I am jealous, I have nothing booked, no real plans. Ok, I do plan on going next weekend, maybe the weekend after. Some Dis friends are going to be there and I want to meet up with them, but I have to work it around being a soccer coach.

What age do you coach? Brie (10 yr old) plays soccer and she loves it!

Still loving your TR and all of the fun pictures!

1.:rotfl2:
2. I can't figure out those puffy cheeks myself. He looks like he has the Mumps!
3. Got to get those pics to you!
4. Uh oh, more troubles for Tigger. J/k folks!
5. Ok, when I first read that I was thinking of Burt and Ernie.:rotfl2:
6. It probably is, Jacob's drawings worry me at times, but it is normally Transformers.
7. I had another, but I thought that one was cuter.

I bet that was your son's DS -- really, how many kids have two? And why on earth would any child need two? That's just sad.

Thank you! The kids are 8-10 years old. I'm enjoying it, but most of mine haven't played on a team before. One kid scored 5 goals on us this past Saturday. When he wasn't on the field, the two teams were evenly matched. But the kids are having fun and that is all that matters.

So I was whining about not having any trips planned, well Vickie is now offering to put us up for a night during their next trip, Jonas has found a convention being held at the WWoS next July and actually mentioned going up a couple of days early so he could spend some time in the parks with us.:woohoo:

And I just had an idea for his 40th Birthday in May. But need to get with his family on that one.

Sorry, I don't have time for an update this morning, will try to do one later today or tomorrow. Hope you all have a great day!!!:goodvibes

Gosh Park Fare looks like so much fun, but I just know though that it would be way too much interaction for my kiddos. Joey LOVES pooh bear though. So cute the stories and interactions you all had. The GF does look beautiful, I do think I will go visit there on my trip, without my kids ;) Can't wait to see what you and your families did next

Hi Melissa!

All caught up again now! Glad you enjoyed 1900 PF, the Mad hatter was hysterical with our 2! Ben and Heather still talk about 'eating Piglet' when we have bacon!

I was wondering why Jacob's cheeks were so chubby in that photo!

Jonas looks pleased with himself as well! ;) I have a very similar photo of Gordon with Princess Jasmine!

Now need to check out your other TR for Chef Mickeys!!

Di x

After our very filling breakfast, Melissa wanted to do something with our PhotoPasses – I think, merge them? – and we were directed upstairs to some folks who could help us.

Here we are, about to get into the birdcage-looking elevator to go up there…

7718_1130673469817_1316648229_30335225_5776230_n.jpg

And Jordan looking non-chalant about the trip…

7718_1130673509818_1316648229_30335226_1924524_n.jpg

Whilest we waited, we decided to look around in the store. I found a nice little Mickey ring that looked like a belt-buckle that I really liked, but didn’t want to expend the dough. The girls saw a pin-swapping opportunity, and Emily actually did a swap. She had been struggling with the age-old issue of every pin she had, she liked…but at the same time, she wanted to do swapping.

7718_1130673389815_1316648229_30335223_2812307_n.jpg

We debated about doing the monorail, or going on the boat to the park…MK. I know I pulled for doing the boat, because I wanted to see more of the resort and ride the boat…just something different! Here we are, walking toward the dock. Saw a little swimming pool (well, I wasn’t impressed after seeing AKL pool).

7718_1130673549819_1316648229_30335227_3357349_n.jpg

Unfortunately, Emily (who was wearing flip-flops) decided to run some of that way, and fell… skinning her hands and knees. Here’s the dramatic “after” pic.

Jordan, enjoying the breeze:

I enjoyed this one a lot. And the GF was beautiful. I promise I have more pics coming up.

:rotfl:Didn't Gordon have that pic as his profile pic on FB? He did look very happy! And I forgot about the "Piglet" comment Mad Hatter made with ya'll. That was too funny.

Vickie, great pics. I wanted to see more of the resort also. Oh, and that pool was just the quiet pool, there is another on the other side of the resort.

Oh, and the reason I had to go upstairs was to get the pic from 1900 Park Faire added to our photopass, and that is also the picture I am holding in my hand. Which, I need to get those to you.

Sorry I haven't been out here much. Vickie had sent me a note that they had a bad storm and lightning got their router, so I was waiting for her and then life got in the way. I'll try to do an update today sometime. First I have soccer, Jacob has a science project that he couldn't find his paper in class so he has to redo it (which is very nice of the teacher to allow this instead of give him a "0".), and I another Dismeet. Got to figure out when we can meet though. It is so hot this week. Feels like it did when we were at WDW in July.

Oh, and looks like I will soon be adding a ticker to my sig!!!

Hope you all have a great day!

Ok, I'm back! Sorry for the delay. Vickie already has us on the boat, but I took lots of pics of GF, so here they are:

And of course I took a pic of that Pin Trading Board, need to go back with my trading pins.

Window displays in their shoppe:

Vickie didn't mention that the boat captain was very nice and waited for us to run to the boat and then wait for us to care for Emily after her spill, but he then said we were going to the Polynesian, which Robert responded we didn't want to. Turns out the family that was already on the boat and had to wait for us wanted to be taken there, so we had an extra long boat ride to the MK.

I thought this safety sign on the boat was cute:

As we head away from the MK:

And I believe this is the main pool at GF:

And the wedding chapel (trying to get Jonas to renew our vows here, don't think it will ever happen.)

Bye, Bye GF!

After our quick trip to the Poly (didn't care for any of my pics), we made it to MK. I wonder what was on Roberts mind...

Next up, we attack the MK!

Our stomachs were full and we were now at my favorite park, Magic Kingdom!

Jordan was surprised to end up in my photo, and hurried across:

I had never noticed the flowers and such up here:

And of course I have to get a pic of the castle every time we enter the park:

Vickie decided Emily needed a bandaid, so while they went into the First Aide station, we waited and took pics of the birds:

We had the knee all bandaged up and we were on our way:

Saw some birds chasing each other, didn't they know there is no fighting at the Happiest Place on Earth!

I usually don't have the camera with me or ready when I see something like this, but I finally did and just had to share.:)

So off to ride:

I know, it's not a ride, we were off to explore.

I like these plants:

And the way out of our little exploration:

Next up, a bunch of crazy birds!

Hi Melissa!

Yes, indeed, Gordon had his photo with Princess Jasmine as his FB pix for a while. I believe he now has it laminated and carries it with him everywhere. ;)

The Treehouse looks lovely, the planting is very lush and tropical - will need to check it out, we've never been on it before.

:rotfl2: Wonder if I should check Jonas' wallet for such pics.;)

I'm surprised you haven't done Swiss Family Robinson. Thing 1 & 2 would love it!

Some great pics of the park for that morning, Melissa -- all during that first part before the Tree, I just have one pic, because of our "emergency."

I will say this, though: the lady at the nurse's station there at MK was wonderful. She gave us antiseptic and bandaids, no charge. Emily wore her bandaids like a little soldier -- she was really good about keeping them on during the day!
