My Ds has woke up this morning with Chicken Pox

poor little thing, I got them at 32, they started coming out as we flew home from Orlando, it was awful, I think it is better to get them when you are small. I shared them with my dad who was 53 and he was really rough with it, I was always taught its good to share LOL

OMG:scared1: was it chicken pox or shingles? I hear it can be a really bad thing to get when you are older:eek:

At least you had your holiday before they decided to make an appearance:rotfl:

it was chickenpox, I had a sore throat and headache for days, then on our last day we were lying at the All Star Movies pool and I felt really rough with some spots which we thought were mossie bites, we got on the plane at Orlando and by the time we got off at Gatwick I was plastered, they literally came out over the course of the journey, I still feel so bad to this day about the amount of people I probably infected on the plane, but I genuinely didn't know, I saw my doctor when I got home and he said I probably was infected on the outboard journey as it takes that long to come out !!

Yes thats what Ive heard they are contagious before the spots come out:sick: and until the spots go crusty:eek: , you wern't to know you had them so you shouldnt feel bad

When the first spot appears-you have already been infecting people for up to 14 days before that-and yes chicken pox in adults can be extremely, gravely dangerous(sorry to worry anyone)shingles however is'nt nice but not dangerous.(and chicken pox is terribly dangerous to a pregnant woman).
and saratogagirl i was always taught to share as well:laughing:
My grandad told me a story once that when he was little living in Ireland if any child had chicken pox the mum would ring all of her friends who's children had'nt had chicken pox and they would all get together for a 'chicken pox party' in the hope that they would all get it.My grandad went to lot's but to this day still has'nt caught it.x.

DH and I have had them but he has got up this morning and is feeling really dreadful:sick: . he has been sick:eek: hope he isnt coming down with something:confused3 , so now I have got 2 of them poorly 1 spotty and 1 sickly.

Adam definitely seems to be on the mend, no more spots and he is very jolly in himself with a good apetite(the spots he has do look at there worst now), thanks to all of you for your advice and kind wishes.

Adam has only a few spots left and is going back to school tomorrow:cool1: , I have checked with the school and they have said he can go back as long as they have crusted over, there seems to be lots of bugs flying about, my friend came yesterday and her son has (Slap Cheek virus) never heard of it before apparently it is awful, I heard of 3 cases of it yesterday. hope he doesnt catch that now:confused3
Thanks again to you all.:flower3:

Glad he's well enough to go back to school, don't worry about slap cheek my 2 girls have both had it and they were fine :goodvibes

Thanks Jo, Ive never acually heard of it until yesterday:confused3
I hadn't either, my eldest decided to get it right in the middle of the inlaws Ruby wedding party :rotfl2: then about 2 weeks later little one got it. There were quite differing opinions about it though, school said to keep her off as she was contagious whereas Dr said once the rash was visible they weren't contagious anymore  Trouble was it was the kind of illness where they weren't actually feeling ill so got impatient very quickly rather than just lay in bed if you KWIM :rotfl2:
