My gas clothes dryer is about 7 years old and today it quit getting hot and quit drying the clothes! They want so much to come fix it that I should probably get a new one, but dang, I hate to spend money on that. Guess I'll have to get out the clothes line!

Oh boy, do I know what you are going through! Mine broke along with my hot water heater and other stuff at the same time a few years ago. The repairman told me the same that it wasn't worth fixing. I finally got a new dryer 2 years later. It was so hard air drying the clothes. It's so much easier to use a dryer. I got mine with store credit and I didn't have to pay interest for 90 days. Maybe you can find a good deal like that.

My dryer died last year just before Christmas. My mom bought us a new gas dryer for our Christmas gift. She's the best!

That just happened to my dryer of 20 yrs, I have a old maytag. Well my dad hated to see me spend money for a new dryer without him looking at it. well low and behold he cleaned out all the vent lint took thecover off and cleaned all that ling and sure enough the dryer is working like when I first got it. I hope that maybe is all yours needs is a good cleaning to get all the lint out. good luck, hope this works for you :D

That is just frustrating, isn't it? 7 years isn't really old for a dryer, though. Hope they get it repaired soon.

Mine is out of commission too.. First time it died we got it going again - haven't had time to take it apart and look at it this time yet.. I need an apt. size because of space problems and they want TWICE as much - if not MORE - than what they want for a full size!!!!!!!!!

For now I'm doing the "Chinese Laundry" scene - clothes hanging all over the house on hangers, off of curtain rods, dangling on the shower head, hanging from the ceiling fan, draped in front of the air conditioners, etc., etc.. Sheets and stuff I've been hauling to my DD's house..

As soon as I stop running back and forth to the lake I'm going to take another look at my dryer.. Hopefully yours can be fixed too.. Look at it this way - if it's already broke, what would it hurt to take it apart and fiddle around with it - right?;)
