I awoke this morning to a wonderful case of pink eye. Not wanting to contaminate every member of my family I decided to go to the dr. I call for an appt and am lucky enough to get squeezed in for 100 am. SO I pack up my 3 22 month olds (alone, becasue my husband works from 9 am to 9 pm) and arrive promptly at 950. I then preceed to wait and wait and wait. I exhaust all the snacks and toys I brought to keep them occupied and am finally called in at 1045 (already 15 min past naptime). The dr then asks me all the logical ques as to where I could have gotten it (not sure since my kids are OK. All the while I have 2 climbing on everthing and I throwing a tantrum because I took away the paper towels from under the sink. He then says are you stressed because conjunctivitis can also because by stressed.
All I can say is thank goodness for drive thru pharmacy::crazy:

Hope you get to feeling better HDL. Would it kill the doc office to move you to the front of the line so you don't have to wait 55 minutes? 3 vs. 1 is unfair.

Whatever would give him that idea? 3 kids can't be stressful?!

Hope you are feeling better soon and NO One else gets it!

If it is pink eye - and you know it is pink eye - can't you have the dr's office call a prescription in and not have to bother with an appointment?

I had pink eye a couple of years ago - it happened about 2 days after some TWIT come up to me in an office supply store and sneezed in my face. I just called the nurse at the office, and they called in an Rx. Not only saves the appointment $$$, it also saves time.

I wish they would have done it over the phone, I was told the dr needed to see it.

Sounds like my doctor! I contracted pink eye from my DD while the whole family (including a then 3-month old) were down with the flu. I called that morning (Thursday during the week before Thanksgiving) to get an appointment/prescription/whatever and was told they could probably squeeze me in the Monday after the holiday. Idiots! Thankfully, DD & DS's pediatrician gave me the medication I needed, and I was better the following evening.

Yes, some may think I am cynical. Did he need to see you, or did he need to see your cash!.

The clinic we go to would prefer not to see kids or adults with pink eye...in my experience, they would always prefer to keep that one out of the office.
