Did you ever have one of those weeks????
I did a 6 day work week, this week, because I am helping out with a new charting computerization initiative at my hospital. So it was 4 days of that, + 2 days of being a "real" nurse.
So Wednesday I get home, reach into my pocket to remove the 3 parking tokens I had bought, and the dog jumps up (probably thinking they were cookies) and grabs them out of my hand!!!!!!! I find 2...the 3rd one is gone, and I had a pretty good idea where.
So I called the vet, she instructed me to give him 1 tablespoon of peroxide and wait 15 minutes or so and he would vomit. I did, he did, no token. I calle dher back, she determined he needed and x-ray. So on Thursday after work, off we go to the vet for an x-ray. Lo and behold, there is the token, plain as day. Based on the angle of the x-ray, my vet thought it was in his stomach, which she said meant that it would not "pass" and once it started to break down, he could get metal toxicitiy poisoning, so he would need an endoscopy to get it out. She didn't have the equipment to do that, but we have a Vet Clinic in our area, so she recommended I take him there. So off we go, and they did another set of x-rays which showed that the token had, in fact, left his stomach and was going through his intestinal system, so the vet there was pretty sure he would "pass" it naturally. Well, lo and behold, yesterday I took him for a walk near his favorite spot to do his "business", and out popped the token!
I now tell everyone my dog can make change!
BTW, the $1.25 parking token cost a grand total of $268.00. He's lucky he's cute!
