So I am just sitting here with DBF watching Shawshank redemption and surfing online, and Jackson is gnawing away at his hoof from PetSmart... all of a sudden it occurs to me that what he is chewing on doesn't sound like his hoof anymore. So we look down and he has completely gnawed through my flip flops! Not the cheapie $3 ones from Target, either- the cute ones with the kitten heel! Grrrr!! They are my staple weekend and after-work shoes... I have no idea what I'm going to wear now!

He is going through a very bad phase of eating things he isn't supposed to. Last night he got into DBF's pastels- his poo was electric blue this morning.

I swear, we have "child-proofed" the house- but he is sneaky!!

Action Jackson is so cute. He looks almost like our little doxie Gracie aka missy moo. Her daddy Simon years ago chewed through two pairs of my shoes in one week. Doxies just gotta love them.

I was out of work for a month and went back to work on Friday. Someone let Annie outside (standard 8 yo poodle) and she chewed the door casing trim around the front door. I don't know what she was thinking. DH was at the Army Reserves this weekend so he had a nice "surprise" when he got home. She is on an invisible fence which works out nicely. I have an indoor unit that looks like a smoke detector. Two days on the front step and she has no desire to chew on the moulding!

Monty's eaten a few good shoes in his day. :)

Monty still occasionally eats things he should not (like down comforters, plastic flowers and slippers  ) but he has gotten a lot better since he was a baby.

Give it time.

And think of it as a good reason to go shoe shopping. ;)

Ugh! Our black lab ate the straps and clip on DS infant carseat. I could have killed him!

We were at our friends house last night and their dog ate his $3,000 hearing aids. We thought he had a pebble in his mouth because he always brings them in from outside. They were still looking for one hearing aid when we left.

Harry ate $80 - 4 $20 bills! He pulled them out of my wallet, which he had pulled out of my purse. Originally I thought it was only $60 until I salvaged the pieces out in the yard (brings a whole new definition to money laundering). When I pieced them together there were some segments that didn't match up - yup, they were ANOTHER $20! Luckily there was enough to piece together that the bank traded them for new bills (I didn't tell them about the "processing" though). I'll do a lot for $80!

He also ate my husband's Hard Rock Cafe cap that his sister had brought him from China. His life wasn't worth 2 cents that night!

Another time he ate the heel on one of my black slingback dress shoes. I've never been able to find another pair that I liked as well.

I always said that God made puppies cute so we wouldn't kill them when they did some of this stuff.

Lilo seems to only like the cheap Old Navy ones, so I think we are ok. Although she did chew up my nice comfy, very broken in pair of cole haan shoes, but they probably needed to go anyway.

$3,000 hearing aids!
Jackson has chewed on both of our cell phones, but I've managed to catch him before he's done any serious damage. And now everytime I use my phone, I see his little teeth marks and think about him.

What I don't get is that DBF's shoes were sitting right there too... but no, mine are more fun to destroy.

I can't wait until he grows up a little bit.
