Or so you would think. He knows exactly when dinner is and lines himself up between the dining room and the kitchen so you can't miss him.:rotfl: And he always goes out to the bush at 9:30pm. While ago DH put him out around 8:30pm. Come 9:30pm Minky is prancing from foot to foot like a just-potty-trained toddler. I know he *couldn't* have that much in his bladder. But out he went, and came in all happy again. He runs upstairs to our bedroom at 10:30pm--he's already curled up by the bed when we get up there.

I have never had a dog who was so routine-oriented. :confused3

I know what you mean. The way our Max knows his schedule, you'd swear he wore a wristwatch.

:rotfl:

I know what you mean! My dog gets up around 10 am for the morning bathroom walk.(boyfriend works later in the day)
When my boyfriend was out of town, the Dude (dog) had to get up with me at 6 am. For two weeks, he looked at me like I was insane for waking him.:lmao:

And he is in bed at 10 pm every night. If I dare to feed him early, he won't touch his food until his regular time. (but happily accepts treats at anytime)

I love my little guy.

Could you ask your dog to teach my cat how to tell time? My cat wakes me up at 4am (ish) and like a lunatic I yell at our cat to come back when it is light outside...

Dash is the exact same way, DD and I just had a conversation about it tonight. He was prancing between the door to the garage (where we keep his food) and his food bowl. DD told him it was too early for supper (he usually eats 30 to 60 minutes later) and I told her he had an earlier breakfast today so his clock was off.

At 9pm every night he comes to find me and whines and follows me around until I make him some popcorn. If no one is having popcorn (we've re-named it "soda wheat" cause he knows the word) that night, he is just lost! Poor deprived puppy :lmao:

When DD rode the bus he would go to the front door every day at 4pm sharp to be let outside so he could wait for her on the front step.

I'm up now as our dog always goes out at 3:15 when I leave for work. She woke me up at 3:15 on the button this morning to go outside.

When my wife was gone for job training and I was on vacation, she woke me up at 3:21 every morning that week for her trip outside.

She also wakes up and walks toward the front door at 2:45 to greet our son from school.

Your cat can tell time, she just isn't on your schedule. Mine are the same way.

I used to say that about Ted too!

I walked him at about 9-930 every night. Well, at precisdely 915pm, if he already wasn't out walking, he'd come and sit by me and STARE at me. At 930 he'd start "talking".

When my parents watched him if we were away, my father would walk him at about 7PM, then they'd let him out in the yard about 9-930 for one last "business". So for about a week after we got home, at 7PM, he'd be itting there doing "The Stare" at me. I'd just say "You're home now, not at Grandma's." then hed walk away and wait until it was time for the 915pm "Stare".

I wish my male dog would lose his ability to tell time. He has to have a snack at 3 am; breakfast is at 6 am. There is no such thing as getting a good night's sleep or being able to sleep in on the weekend. Of course, as soon as he has breakfast, he crawls into my lap and immediately takes a long nap.

So can my horses. God help me if I am not at the gate to the pasture to bring them in at 5:30pm...they're out there whinnying and banging on the gate. Same thing at feeding time. If I'm not there at 7am... Oh and when I am teaching a riding lesson, I swear that exactly ONE HOUR after the kid gets on, the horses go and stand in the middle like "ok kid..it's been an hour. get off me."

I had a dog who would at a certain time get up and head for the bedroom. He would hit the door, turn around look at us as to say ok guys it's time to go to bed.

DD's dog also wears a wrist watch.. LOL..
He knows what time DD's FIL is going to arrive every morning Monday through Friday and waits in the living room by the door - but doesn't do it on Saturdays or Sundays..

He knows what time DGD is going to come home from school and again, is waiting by the door.. Ditto for when DD's DH comes home, but he waits at the other door - that comes in from the garage..

DD's cat (who died last year) had diabetes and also seemed to wear a wrist watch.. The cat received shots twice a day and when it was time for each shot, he would come and lay right down in front of the fridge.. If you didn't notice, he would walk up and down the hallway howling..

Pets are much, much smarter than we give them credit for..:santa:

Of course he can. He is a poodle. I would expect nothing less. Jude was always very punctual.

I FINALLY got my dog used to the time change! She's not too scheduled about wake up and bedtime, but dinner time is ingrained deep! 5:00 on the button! (Actually my clock said 5:02 when she told me it was time for dinner tonight, I specifically took note.)

My cat Annie who died in July could tell time and figured out how to turn the radio on if you didn't get up at 6:30 and feed her !

Of course he can. He is a poodle.

:rotfl: Isn't that the truth! Minky is getting older now and we've been talking about...you know...DH says when the time comes we're getting another poodle. But not another giant 80-lb one. Maybe a miniature. Once a poodle owns you own no other dog measures up.

My DSis taught my horse to "smile" for his feeding times. He would come and stand at the gate when it was time to eat, smiling like a fool. :lmao: He was always prompt! :thumbsup2
I miss that guy! :sad1:
