I know this can be very dangerous as it can cause intestinal obstuction, was just looking for anyone who's been through this b4. Jake got into our garbage Friday nite and got part of a leftover ear of sweet corn and gobbled it down. I talked to the vet and he told us what to watch for: vomitting, watery stool, acting like his abdomen hurts, whites of his eyes turning red due to sepsis. So far so good. He pooped yesterday morning and this morning but no corn cob.
He's a big dog...about 100 lbs. but the vet said there's still a good chance it could get stuck in the bend between the small and the large intestines.
FYI: The big dumbie has done this once before and he kept it in his stomach for three weeks before throwing it up. I think we got lucky that time.
I swore after the first time we'd never have corn on the cob in the house again and now I'm kicking myself for it.
Any one have any stories to share?
