My Dog ate a Corn Cob~Advice

My husband had a Shepard that ate a trash bag. He saw it sticking out his butt & had to pull it out for him. (If this becomes a tag I'm going to be very unhappy)

Well trained dog. provides it's own pickup bag.:thumbsup2

We took Cleo to the vet and we paid for x rays and blood work. No cob! Yay!
The xray revealed a small amount of gas in her stomach which could mean particles of the cob but she's a big dog so no harm in passing rectally. Blood work showed beginnings of dehydration due to the vomiting. She's on a bland diet of soft food for now with medication to make her stool more solid. She's already looking better. I'm so relieved! At least I now have peace of mind. Thanks to everyone for replying and helping me thru this scare. I reminded my son to never leave the garbage can in the open again.

Kelly:yay:

My veternarians own dog swallowed a corn cob recently when they had company over for a cookout. The dog started to vomit the following day.

Long story short - they performed surgery on the dog to remove the cob.

They said they will never again serve corn on the cob to company.

I hope all is okay w/your dog.
