My doctor found a lump-update p.4!

Plenty of P&PD on the way to you!

I know it's easier said than done...but try not to worry or stress too much! :grouphug: :grouphug:

I understand. It is hard to relax and not think about it but like one poster said, worrying isn't going to make it better or worse. Just makes you sick to your stomach. :)
They'll most likely do a mammogram and an ultrasound. From the ultrasound they'll be able to tell if it is a fluid filled cyst or not. Sometimes they'll say "Let's just watch it" but you can ask to have it drained. It doesn't hurt and is kind of fun to watch on the ultrasound screen. They numb the area, insert a needle and suck the fluid out. Just like that it disappears! :thumbsup2
If it turns out to be a malignant mass you'll have all of our prayers to help you through. There have been many advancements in recent years. One of my friends didn't even feel sick during chemo!

Sending some pixie dust your way! As hard as it may be, try to stay positive. Good luck, and I'm sure everything will out for the best.

As others have said, it's probably nothing to worry about. But it's always better to check things out and be sure. I'll keep you in my prayers.

If you need someone to talk to, come visit the GAGWTA thread. Most of us have had breast cancer. We'd be glad to hold your hand while you wait. We know how hard it is waiting since we've all been there.

I am sending prayers, (((hugs))) and Pixie Dust. We will help you with the wait.

My MIL just had a biopsy of a cyst on monday....it is totally benign. I have also had several friends with cysts or lumps that are nothing, so it is VERY common. I know it is stressful, but don't worry until you have to.

:grouphug:

I'm sorry about the finding and about the wait! Waiting really bites! I've had a breast cyst before and I know that they are very common. I would guess that it's very possibly that. I'm a little surprised that the dr didn't get you in for an ultrasound today. I can see not being able to see the surgeon until next week, but some answers could have been gotten from the ultrasound. hang in there and know that the odds are good that it's nothing serious and if it is serious, you will deal with that, too. :grouphug:

I'm kind of freaking out right now. I had a doctors appointment this morning and she found a lump in my breast. She reffered me to a breast surgeon because she couldn't tell if it were serious or not, so now I have to wait until wednesday to find out. I feel like I'm going out of my mind with worry. I can't reach my husband and I don't want to worry my mom or my friends. I've never asked for prayers or pixie dust before but if you have any to spare, I sure could use them now.

The same thing happened to me last month. I'm having my second ultrasound next week, as a matter of fact.

The first lump (2" in diameter) was diagnosed as Fibrocystic Breast Disease and I thought I was all clear. Then, the next day my doctor called me and told me that they found another, smaller lump, next to the original cyst. This one "has walls and is dense" and she wants it looked at.

Hang in there. Chances are, it's just a cyst.

Prayers and good thoughts are with you. I had the same thing happens to me a few years ago so I know the waiting is very hard. I had good news mine was benign. Hope you have good news also.

You are very young and have no history of breast cancer....both of those factors are strongly in your favor! Cysts indeed are very, very common. I had one in college (and man was I scared when that thing showed up!) and my mother has had lumpy tissue that turned out to be fibrous tissue....nothing dangerous. ****s can be such a pain because they scare us so much with all the crazy things that show up in them! But really, most of the things that show up in them are nothing to worry about.

And please go to your mom. I would be heartsick if my daughter was scared about something and didn't tell me! You need your mother and she needs to be there for you! :grouphug:

I had a lump, it ended up being a cyst and was caused by drinking too much caffiene... of all things... The surgeon removed it, I've cut way back on the caffiene and life is good. :thumbsup2

Prayers and Pixie Dust to you Princess! pixiedust:

The waiting would make me crazy too. It sounds like the odds favor it being nothing and I will keep you in my prayers.

(PS Tell your Mom, she'd want to be there for you)
