Folks, FYI. I usually always go to DL on Sundays. That's going to change for awhile so there will be no Sunday night/Monday morning park updates -- at least probably not until well into January. Dec. 8 excepted. It's a friend's bday that day and we planned to meet up.

I am going tomorrow and everyone that's requested maps will have them next week. Anyone else that would like a set, simply let me know via direct message. I'll perhaps start to go on Wednesdays and/or Saturdays.

EDIT/UPDATE: Circumstances have changed once again and I'll now revert to my original park schedule, which is a relief (park report posted moments ago). Not a fan of EMH on Saturdays. Or any days, really.

If you'll be there on Saturdays, there will be a better chance that we'll see you in the parks! :)
I suspect I will be. I hate going on EMH mornings but circumstances make it necessary. I can still rope drop on Weds. Friends and I do it every Sunday and while I always love it, there’s also a certain amount of stress because I’m competitive and get crazy about being at or close to the front of the line for PP. I’ve often thought of not doing it but I’m concerned that my friends would be disappointed. I’ll see less of them for awhile but I have other friends that go on Saturdays. They downgraded to the Flex Pass a few months ago. They’re the same ones that did all of the rides in both parks in one day a few months ago.

So you might be at DL next Wednesday?
(Just in case I make it to the parks early enough to look out for you... I arrived yesterday but Friday will be my first planned park day...)

And happy Thanksgiving! Hope you enjoy the day despite the rain...

So maybe see you in the parks Saturday the 7th..will keep an eye out and my teen can thank you in person for her maps :)

Almost certainly :-). That’s one of the days that they do the handmade candy canes at Candy Palace. In fact, I’m sitting on the Main Street porch immediately across from it now. It’s pounding rain and likely will be for the entire day. It doesn’t seem to have effected crowds. There are a lot of people here. I suspect many have traveled a long way to get here and can’t/won’t cancel their plans just because of a little rain.

Actually, that’s the only exception. On that weekend I’ll be here on the 8th (Sunday) for a friend’s birthday. Sorry I’ll miss you :-(. It’s always nice to meet people to whom I’ve sent maps.

I have Flex reservations for this Saturday, and normally would look for you at PP rope drop, but am thinking of trying for a candy cane over at CA Adventure. Any tips on how early I should arrive? I normally try to get to park entrance by 7:40 AM, will that be too late?

I’ve been off sugar for 30+ years so I’ve never actually bought one :-). I just like to watch them being made. I know that in years past once guests scan through the gate, many of them rush to get a wristband at the DL Candy Palace. Wristbands and required to buy a CC since there are only a relatively small number made and far more people want them than can be accommodated. I suggest that you arrive much earlier if it’s important to you. On a typical day, I usually arrive at the park gates at around 7:00 (for an 8:00 opening) and am often the first person in the park. With a 7:00 arrival, I think you’ll be virtually guaranteed a candy cane :-).

Sounds good!
Just to make sure... you do your usual morning routine and do candy cane watching afterwards, right?

Yes, that’s right. I rope drop Fantasyland, then Buzz for at least four games followed by Pirates and a break - probably to watch them make the CCs :-).
