My Disneyland Paris trip may be CANCELLED!!

i was watching BBC yesterday when it was first announced...(when they didn't know yet what it was)...

my first thought was also of disneyland paris...

is it possible to fly there? are any flights available at all?

or take a ferry across and then get on a train?
or is that just too much of a mess..

We can't fly as they have almost run out of tickets, so they are stupidly expensive!

However my boyfriends friends are also going to DLRP at the same time as we are, so we are going to car/ ferry share there. They are happy to drive, so we are going to catch a lift.

Its just as security for us, we are still hoping to get on the Eurostar, but we do have a back up plan. Even if the ferry crossing is at 5am!

Wish me luck guys!

Best of luck to you Kate -- I'm sure you can make it somehow! :goodvibes

Ferry or hovercraft. They don't do hovercraft anymore, so just the ferry option and i get sea sick!

Get out the crystallized ginger, set your alarm clock for "STUPIDLY EARLY", and enjoy your trip! You'll get there, and when you do, you'll forget all about all this awful, stressful stuff and have a WONDERFUL time, dear!

I want a full trip report, with pics of you and your BF, when you return!

That stinks...best of luck it all works out. Did you see this info from the Eurotunnell website:

If you have a booking for travel within the next 48 hours, please call our Customer Contact Centre on 08705 35 35 35

Thanks!

I am technically with Eurostar, not EuroTunnel (Eurostar is a normal sit down train, EuroTunnel is the car/lorry transporter) and Eurostar is telling us to sit tight and they will announce soon.

Good idea about the crystallised ginger by the way Mindy! I will pop in and get some from Waitrose this afternoon!

Also should mention Sea Bands for traveling on ferry. They work very well.

Good Luck Kate!

We got non-drowsy Dramamine for DD when she did a boat tip last year and it worked great for her. The ginger suggestion has turned my stomach ever since someone suggested I try it when I was pregnant and it just made me worse :)

No matter how you get there have a great time!

Great news about the ferry, glad you can get there at least!
It's not been a good few days for UKer's getting to WDW or DLRP :(

I gather it's not so bad if you go up onto the outside deck on the ferry, tho i don't get sea sick so not sure if it's any different.
Go to the bar and get a few drinks, then you can blame any sickness on drunkeness ;)

:goodvibes

OMG I feel so srry for you guys :sad1:

I do hope things get sorted, I think the fire is out now, just hope they re-open and get everyone to where they want to go. You may fnd a few people who were due to go Sat/Sun have made alternative arrangements freeing up a few seats.

Good luck if you have to go the ferry option (the train has got to be the better option IMHO), I once went to Diepe (sp?) from New Haven and it was a bit choppy on the way out, but the boat was cancelled on the way home and we had to get a bus to Calais ferry to Dover then a bus to New Haven  Even from Dover it was choppy - walking up the stairs, one minute the stair was there the next minute it was about 8 inches lower :scared:

Have a wonderful time when you get there and I hope it is a smooth crossing.

Say Bonjour to Mickey for me

Right guys!

The trains have now been cancelled all weekend, luckly we booked the ferry so are set to travel down to my bf's friends tomorrow night. We are claiming our tickets back from Eurostar now, so in the end it works out cheaper!!! (Always look on the bright side! ;))

Although i hate ferries, i am going to dose myself up on tablets, ginger and the podcasts!

No matter what, we are meeting that mouse!!!

Thank you guys for all your support, and will keep you updated till tomorrow evening.

No wonder i love these boards so much!
