Day 1 - Wednesday, April 17th

I got up around 8:00 to get ready to leave. I had to run by my mothers house to pick up my brothers cell phone that I was borrowing - just in case. My brother was so kind enough to let me borrow it. I had to get gas too, it took $18.50!!! I have not had to shell out that much money in a long time. I had a short drive over to Orlando, it only takes me about 1 hour and 15 mins tops. I left my moms at 9:15am and arrived in my room at the Swan shortly after 10:30.

It was time to go meet Tink29 in the Dolphin near the piano. I was getting kinda nervous/excited. I always seem to right before a meet, not sure why though. So I walked over to the Dolphin and took inthe view. These are 2 nice hotels, I felt like a queen.

I was standing next to the piano when Tink came up. We hugged, talked for a few mins and then headed to the pool where her husband and children were playing in the pool. Tink was dues to leave in a few hours to go back home so we sat by the pool and talked till it was time for her to leave. It was so nice getting to know her more and in person. Her DH is nice and her 4 kids are the cutest kids. (hi Tink) Cookie came up just as Tink was about to leave so they got to visit for a couple minutes, then Tink and family left us. I was sad to see her go but I know one day we will meet up again (right Tink?? )

By now it was close to 2:00 so Cookie and I headed out to MGM for a few hours while we waited for the rest of the group to show up. The first thing I noticed when I arrived there was Mickey's huge hat - had to take a couple pictures of it! That thing is huge! We were hungry so we headed to the ABC Commissary for a late lunch. I forgot what she had, I had the kids chicken nuggets with fries. After that we did the Muppet Show. Now I am not a fan of the Muppets but I did enjoy this show. I love 3-D shows, they are always so cool.

After Muppets we did the Backlot Tour, it was a long tour (takes apporx 35 mins) but it was not bad. The volunteers for the beginning were good - they had us laughing. It was neat seeing the big (foam) canyon and then the place where they make the costumes for the characters.

Who Wants to be A Millionaire was next on our list. Sadly, we did not make it to the hot seat. I guess we did not take our brain pills that morning. I knew quite a few of the answers though, so I was happy. The 2 contestants did not win the Million points though.

The last thing that we did was Walt Disney: One man's Dream. This was a cool place. I am not sure how long it has been open but I would recommend it. You are able to see many of the first works of Walt Disney. I loved seeing his Oscar for Snow White on Display, it was cute how they had the big one and then 7 small ones behind it. After the muesum part you see a movie and that was good too. I was sleepy so I was fighting to stay awake during this show. (oops)

We decided to leave the park and see if we could catch up with the rest of the cheerleaders.
We made it back to the Swan and I dont remember how but we finally caught up with some of the gang. Mickeyfaniam aka Debbie (and hubby, and 2 sons), poohlovr aka Sue, Cookie and myself went to play mini golf at Fantasia Gardens. This is located right next to the hotel so it was in walking distance. We had the guys play together and then us girls played together since we had such a large group. This was alot of fun. This course was kinda tricky, it had lots of uphill and that caused lots of problems for us. The people behind us must have thought that we were drinking because we were constantly laughing. It took us a long time to get through the 18 holes, the place was very busy. We all got at least one hole in one, some had more than that. One person (I will leave her nameless) got stuck in the water fountain part so I snapped a great picture! We finished up and headed back to our rooms.

Day 1 was a great beginnig for this trip. I made it to the hotel alive and no problems with my car. I was able to meet a great online friend and see others that I had met before. I went into a park that I had never been to and just had a good day. Hopefully the rest of the week was just as good!
