i have printed over 300 pictures for our disney cruise. that's a lot of pix...i can't even imagine putting them all in. my question is...how do you all put/fit in your pix? is your album just very thick? or do you get 2/3/4? albums?? and ideas on incorporating multiple pix onto your layout would be greatly appreciated!! thanx! i hope i'm not the only one who goes camera happy! :flower:

Sometimes I won't even scrap ALL the pics that I've taken. Here are a few tips that should probably help.

Just take the best pics and only scrap those and put the remaining pics in a small photo album?

Here are a few links for you to take a look at. These are pages (not mine but I have them in my favorites file for further reference) that incorporate many photos for one page.

You can also purchase a color blocking template (www.deluxedesigns.com or other brands) and use this. Very easy to use and a way to get more pics on a page.

I hope you get some ideas from these pages. Good luck.

It's rare for me to have only 1 picture on a page if I'm working on a 12x12 album. There's lots of space to work without without the pages feeling overwhelming. If you're working on a smaller album, 6x6 or something like that, you might want to be more selective about the pictures you include.

I've always been one for stuffing as many pics on a page that I can, which is why I rarely do pic matting/borders. I've recently started doing digital scrapping which is awesome, since you can resize your pics on the fly and have small images that help tell your story of the page, without "stuffing" them all in.

Try cropping your pics as much as possible, so that a bunch of them are smaller, this will bring out the person or thing you want to showcase, and eliminate wasted space. Get a cheap straight cutter to do this easily.

Don't be afraid to have a huge book. Make sure you use a post bound book, so that you can make it really fat by adding extra posts, which is very easy to do, just screw them on. I have several trips scrapped in one book and it's a couple inches thick. I like to keep them together, so I can just be happy looking through that book.

You don't have to scrap all your pics. Pick out the ones that are special and help tell your story. I pick themes for each page/2page LO based on what pictures I've taken. On my last trip I had a lot of WL pics, so I showcased WL, and I had a lot of fireworks pics to make a firework page, etc. I also try to highlight different things then on previous trips.

Don't be afraid to add things together from different times during the trip. Instead of scrapping a lot of pictures from a single character meal, maybe make just a 2 page LO on all your character meals. You may leave out a lot of pics this way, but you will still tell your story in a smaller amount of space. Just don't leave out one child... they'll notice!!! :rotfl:

One of my early pages that is one of my favorites is "A Parade of Parades" where I had pics of all the parades we saw during that trip in 2000, including Tapestry of Dreams and the MK parade. That was back in film days, so we do have many more photos now of each parade and I will probably spread them out to their own LOs, but if you were looking to condense space, that is one way to go.

Hope this gives you some ideas. Would love to see what you come up with when you finish!

I'm currently trying to finish up an album of DS's first trip to WDW. I had about 200 pics printed and then went through and picked the best of those to use. I just counted and I have 75 pics in the 8x8 album, none of them cropped and a few I printed out 8x8. I have 2 4x6 prints on each page, and the album currently has 48 pages in it - I had to add a few sets of refill protectors. I still have journalling pages to add so I'm sure at least another 4-6 pages until complete. As for how I did it - I copied a format I found in an idea booklet I picked up at the grocery store. Scarplifting is the best when you want to get an album/pages done quickly! :thumbsup2

300 pics that's nothing I have 585 from our 8 day may trip. I only went throught the photos one when ordering. I will go through one more time before sitting down to scrap and then some more photos will be left out once I scrap. I imagine I will still have something like 400 photos though.

A few tricks I learned. I pretty much always scrap more than one photo on a page. At least the ones I take. I usually leave the "park taken ones" by themselves.

I sometimes take a photo smaller than I would for a great photograph (for frame, mounting etc) because I can crop it for scrapbook and have "weird" sizes with no problems. I hardly ever ditigal crop becuase that gives me the oppurtunity for physical cropping and having different sized and shaped photos.

I mostly do two pages layouts under one theme. Sometimes I have too many good photos and this gets expanded (The 1st time DD was in Pooh playful spot when she could walk.... oh my goodness I think I had 15 or so photos I wanted to use). For that I did an "intro" pooh's playful spot page and then spilt the pages up using pooh, piglet, tigger, and eeyore backgrounds pages.

OKay I Think I am babbling. If some of my thoughts seem like the might help let me know and I can expand on them :thumbsup2

I took over one thousand pictures on our last trip - I am camera happy! I printed about 500 and all of them are in my album. The album is 12x12 and I averaged about 5 pictures per page. The album spine is about 3 inches thick. When I bind these huge albums I sometimes go to home depot and get toggle bolts. They are more sturdy than the scrapbooking posts and are available in 1/2 inch increments up to 6 inches.

My theory is, if I took the picture or collected the stuff, it is probably something I want to have to remember my trip. And I ONLY do trip albums like this.

thanx everyone for all your great tips & ideas!! and the lo links were great!! i just feel so overwhelmed, when i got my pix back! cuz i did looked thru & picked the ones i wanted to have printed, and that was a bit over 300...so i must've taken maybe 400 pix total. i wanted to print them all, but i knew i won't be using all of them!

if there are more ideas & suggestions, please keep them coming!! thanx!! :flower:

For my 2001 10-day trip between the pictures I took and the pictures the kids took I had over 700 photos. Weeding out just plain bad ones, I put all the rest in a regular album and scrapped probably around 3/4 of them - anything with people in them and the best ones of parades, etc. I scrapped 8.5 x 11 and I ended up using 3 large 3-ring binders for the albums - each one is stuffed to the gills. I just think of it as a 3-volume set. I wouldn't have eliminated anything - it's such a complete record of our trip.

I do tend to put a lot of pictures on a page. I crop a lot - for that album I was really into shapes like circles and ovals. I also had a lot of pages with no photos on them - using park maps, postcards, etc. Because I don't scrap in an album, I scrap onto paper and add to the album later I just did it until I was done - I didn't worry about the size. I had no idea when I started that it would be 3 books worth.

Because that was our first trip as a family it was the largest - since then I haven't gone quite so crazy and have managed to contain myself to one album. But next year is another 10 day affair - we'll see how that goes!

I'm a 1000 pic per trip person too! I print about 750 and crop and scrap from that. Since both my trips so far were cruises, I put the ship pictures in one album and the port pictures in another. Whatever I didn't use, I just put in a regular album that had a space for writing what the picture was right next to it. I use 12x12 post bound and put lots of pics on a page.

During any trip, I weed out the icky pictures each night to make more room on my memory stick. Once I upload the pictures, I weed out more, okay so now we might be down to 500 pics. :rotfl:

As I scrapbook, I weed out some more, but even with doing all that, my last trip to WDW (five days) to see the Christmas decorations ended up being three, yes three CM 12 x 12 Disney albums. :rolleyes1

the last disney album i did ended up being about 70 pages..very thick!
however i like having it all in one place!

Hey! This is our first MNSSHP too. We are going on October 12 and will be in full costume as a medieval family (assuming I can get the sewing done). I personally can't wait. I am so excited about this trip.

I printed 400 pictures from our December trip and I scrapped 2-12x12 albums. I really like using the Becky Higgins sketches on the Creating Keepsakes website for inspiration!

I am so bad. I only print as I go. I am afraid of misplacing them when the time comes.

But, since they aren't printed, I don't work on them. Hence, our second trip is coming and I am still working on the albums from the first.

LOL, I just made a similar post.. guess I should have read down the main page a little further! I am running into the same problem. I want to get as many photos in my book as I can, and have had to cut a lot out. For those, I will just put them in a small flip album that I wont' scrap (yikes!). My problem is, so many of my pictures, I don't want to crop.. which makes it hard to get too many on a page. My album looks as though it could explode at any moment! I've already got 500 pics to scrap, and I haven't even printed all that need to be done! Crazy!!!

I had 552 photos from our first trip...(3 land 4 sea) I took the photos that I loved and put them into the book...I am sure I could keep going if I wanted to!!!
But for one page I did a mosaic with all of the photos that I had that had cool stuff in them that I wanted in the book but the shot wasnt great or had like the name of a ride and a sea of people in them...I just used the good parts.
I also did some colorblocking in the book...

PS this time I have a theme...Characters & Hidden Mickeys!!!
