It is free and it shows your itinerary on it, and it is good if you want to switch rides or times on the go. I prefer doing initial stuff on the web site, but they are all linked together.

It certainly doesn't hurt to have it.

Once you are in park on a busy day, I have found it necessary to go off of Disney's WiFi to get anything done. They really need to fix their bandwidth problem

I was there last week and sometimes I couldn't login. It kept asking me for my username/password and then it would tell me to contact someone by phone to resolve it. I'd switch to cell data and had no problems.

No cost - I'm using mine for a trip in October. I like that I can tap the screen and see everything booked so far without having to go into my email. So far, I feel it works well. We'll see when we get to the parks.
