My Disney Disaster

We were on the dining plan and I can honestly say, if we didn't have to tip, we wouldn't have needed ANY money in the parks on any of our days...seriously...take a credit card in case you run out of cash...

Again I would like to thank you all with your advice

To those of you who have questions about the Travel Agent
She gave us this paper voucher. we didnt read it that was our fault.
Me and my husband both have slight learning disabilities so not reading things correctly happens to us alot. And as for us being very upset and crying yes we did because we are a low income family and this trip is our dream vacation...

Who wouldnt cry?

I am glad u got things sorted out, and as for the voucher YAHOO!!!!!

I would have been in tears and I am sure it would take over a hour to calm me down!

I would cry if I had to cancel my dream vacation, but not having souvenir money for two days...not so much.
Again, I'm glad it all worked out.

Oh, I'm so glad this all worked out for you. You guys should be able to cover all your tips and get some neat stuff for the kids, too, with that $500!!! It's okay you guys overlooked the info originally, it turned out to be a great surprise!!!

I know the dining plan isn't a necessity, but I'm so glad for you that you got it and it's already paid for. Especially since this trip is going to be your honeymoon and all the kids' first vacation all in one! It's so much fun to get to eat a nice meal and be served each day -- you deserve it! And if you have any character meals planned, I'm sure your kiddos will think they are in heaven!!! Also, it's great to be able to spoil them with a Mickey bar or an itzakadoozie at the parks for a snack credit!

As far as souvenirs go, I know my DD would want one of everything if I let her, so I would probably try to save buying until the last couple days and settle on something special for each kid. Definitely no need to break the bank buying a bunch of stuff that might end up collecting dust when you get home.

I'm really excited for you guys!!!!!! I know it will be as much fun as you have dreamed! And I think I would have cried for an hour if I found out the funds I was counting on weren't available, too! But it all worked out in the end. Congratulations, and have fun!!!

If your trip is already paid for, you don't have much to worry about. Just tell the kids that they can buy something towards the end of the trip & give them the money later. When we go to Disney and we are on the DP, we don't spend that much money at all. Just take some items from home to eat in the mornings, have a CS for lunch, a snack later & dinner out. Everything but your breakfast is covered. If they need an extra snack, let them get one and pay for the others later in the trip. You will only need to have money for the tip at dinner for yout TS meal. Believe me, it's doable so don't stress about it. ;)

I agree totally with this (as other have said also) :thumbsup2

If you're on the dining plan you have no worries about food and snacks. Give the kids their spending money mid trip that way they've scoped out what they want and not made impulse purchases.

Also if you were planning on putting a credit or debit card on file you can charge to your room and pay off those purchases at checkout.

Relax and have fun!

I should have read all the posts before posting myself originally : )

I'm so glad it worked out for you! Don't take anything anyone says here personally (about not reading fine print /crying). We're all here giving advise but you and your husband are the ones feeling the emotions. I was where you are at one time trying to plan our first trip on a showstring and feeling like it would be our one and only trip ever.

Several years later and we're in a much better position but I'll never forget how deperate I felt then for it to be perfect for our family cause we took nothing for granted.

Have a wonderful time, relax, enjoy the World with your family...that's what it's all about! :goodvibes
