My Disney Dilemma

I am sure that you are a great guy and and I think it's great that you are willing to do something so nice. BUT- I would NEVER let my kids go to any amusement park Disney or otherwise without an adult with them all day. They are still kids no matter how responsible they are. What if one of them gets hurt? The cellphones seem like a great idea but I think they are a false sense of security. I went to WDW when I was 14 and I brought a friend and we stayed with my parents the whole time. We didn't mind and had a great time. We would never expect it to be any other way. Meeting up with them every few hours may seem okay but alot can happen in a few hours. Please don't be insulted as that is not my intent. I just think that alot of poeple think the WDW is exempt from weirdos and accidents so they think that nothing will ever happen. No place is exempt. I don't have a problem with one adult to 6 teend, but I do have a problem with no adult and 6 teens. If you can't stay all day with them and not just in the park, then I wouldn't let my kid go. I knwo you want to reward these kids who have worked so hard, but they are old enough to understand that your sister is sick and they may have to wait until next year. I know you think that's cruel but family comes first and if that means postphoning a trip so someone can recover then so be it. Again I commend you on wanting to keep your promise to these very deserving girls but I have to vote no for this one.

Glad everything went well...sounds like all had a great time....

Wow you did it I dont know if i could handle all the oooohhh myyyy gawds and whatevers from 5 or six teenage girls
I'm glad as I'm sure your daughters are that you stuck to your agreement
I just would've preferred some backup or tag team partner whatever you want to call it sounds like you and your girls had a great trip

Glad you had a good trip and that things worked out well!

LOL - Yeah, this can get a little much to handle at times. I coach my older girl's soccer team so I am somewhat used to this. But I was still surprised at just how noisy 5 excited teenage girls can get on a 20 minute drive into Disney. The decibal level was truly astounding. And the shrill factor was off the charts.

At first it was kind of endearing, but it got a little old after about a week. So for the last few days I made them all hitch-hike to park so I could catch up on my zzzz's.

Kidding, I'm only kidding folks. I'm not that irresponsible. I would never let my daughters hitch-hike without wearing their regulation traffic safety vests.

I'm glad it all worked out. Yours was one of those posts that kept me wondering how it all worked out! I guess I just think that there is always safety in numbers and that that many girls would be okay. Glad you had some R&R and that your sister is doing better!
