My Disney Budget

I'm not the one who posted that, but I wouldn't think it would be too difficult - especially given they will have a car to get groceries offsite. Since they're getting free dining the following week - I'm assuming they are saving all their more expensive meals for that week - and going low end the first week. Couple bags of bagels, 2 boxes of cereal, a tub of cream cheese and milk and yogurt would be able $20 - $25 total for breakfasts for the week. Splitting counter service meals and bringing snacks and water into the park fromt the room - and some days bringing sandwiches for lunches. Then for dinner - going offsite for takeout pizza or subs....That could keep it to $400.

But, let us not forget the tips we now pay on the ddp. For my 13 night trip, a family of 4. 2 adults, 2 juniors. I added my tips coming close to 400.

That does sound like a great idea. Unfortunately, we do already have them bought. Oh dear.

If you really do think it would be a good idea for you situation, this is what Allears says:

I have heard that I can upgrade my MYW ticket to an AP or PAP and get full credit for the original purchase price even after I have used a few days admission. Is this true?

Yes it is. If you decide that you want to upgrade it to an AP/PAP, you will get full credit for the price of the ticket towards the AP/PAP. All MYW tickets must be upgraded within 14 days of first use. In all cases, the AP/PAP will be backdated to the date the hopper pass was first used. Tickets purchased prior to MYW tickets can still be upgraded but must be completely unused to do so. But beware: If you get a MYW ticket with the Water Park Fun & More option and use one of the WPF&M admissions before doing this, you will only be allowed to upgrade to a PAP.

Hope you have a fun trip either way!

Me, dh, dd4, ds6.
13 nights @ Pop Century w/free dining+10 day hoppers 2356

Airfare 676.00
Tips for dining 380-400
Extra oop dining expenses 250

Misc 500

I have yet to count the extras like disney shopping trips for clothing etc. But, I am at 4,702 with the above. Wow, that is alot. But, the feeling I get at Disneyworld, is priceless!

OK, I'm a Disney veteran & yet I need help with this all. Ya'll are panicking me. I am going on a girl's trip for free dining in Sept. We'll be there 4 days. We got park hopper (not water park.) So what you are telling me is I can change that to one day basic (so I still qualify for free dining) and then transfer my park hopper/water park ticket to a annual pass & use it 2 months later when I go back for the trip described above. How much would this save me?

Does it save me on stroller rental?

Any info is good. I'm about to go read up on annual passes.

Thanks!!!!!!

POR 3 nights with free dining. 1132.00
5 people, adults, 1 JR,2 kids, all 1 day passes.

Ap's with turning in 1 day passes towards cost 1226.00 thats 1 adult,1jr, and 2 kids AP's. hubby only staying 3 days.
The Ap's are lower because I have DVC discount on those as well.

I was surprised to see an above poster list her DVC expense as zero.
at the very least the maintance on those points is a cost even if you own outright as I do.

So 150 DVC points valued at 1500 if supposing 10 per point.
I won't estimate dues on those just point value.
so 5 nights DVC after POR 1500.00

Garden grocer 200.00
Sunrise safari 160
extras 700
Airfare for 6 1326.00

for a total of 6244.00 for 8 nights. We will only be eating out with our free dining at the start of our trip then we will eat in the villa.

OK, just quickly looked at AP's. I have to pay for DDE? But it says I get $25.00 off? So is it $45 to get 20% off all dining? Hmmm. I may be off to the Dining plan board. You've all sent me spinning & I thought I was done planning!

our disney trip = $2005.40 if not less that rocks :cool1:

* We will not use the 1 day base ticket because we still have our Disney season pass so we will save it for next trip ..

The last time I bought the DDE card it was $65, I believe. You only get 20% off sit down meals with the exception of the value resort food courts and maybe the counter service places in AK.

It looks ugly, but a vacation for 5 for 10 nights, I guess it is not too bad.

I guess it's true that DVC doesn't really save you much $$$, we just end up spending the $$$ we save on lodging on other things!

If you are not going off site at all then I'd drop the mini-van rental. You can use ME for free back and forth and the on-site transportation will be good esp at that time of year. That's a lot to pay for a mini-van that will sit parked for the most part.

*just my 2¢ of course! ;)

We are going nov 4-11( 8 days), me ds 6 dd 3
I paid $2100 for our stay at pop, deluxe dining, and 8 day basic tickets

I paid $990 for our plane tickets
bbb $200

tip $250
spending $500 ( I've never been so I don't know what I'll spend)

I agree with this. I took a baby & was nervous about not having a vehicle & going to other resorts for dinners with all the transfers. We finally decided just to take taxis if we needed to. We only ended up needing a taxi once in 9 days & it cost us under $20 with tip so we were very pleased with our decision. The Disney transport was easier than I thought it would be.

We own DVC, but I figure that each year we spend the following:

1,500 - annual passes
60.00 - DDE card

Beyond that - Disney costs about 200$ a day on average for us. We eat one TS meal (lunch or dinner) each day - at least a couple of signature meals, which will be between 60-140$ depending on what and where we eat. A CS lunch or dinner is usually around 30.00. We tend to be light breakfast eaters.

Here's mine!

8 day/7 night stay at the Polynesian with 8 day park hopper (with water park fun & more option) tickets for a family of four, with Deluxe Dining (package deal) - $6198

4 round trip plane tickets - $1236

tips (Mousekeeping/restaurants) - $290

spending cash - $1500

Total = $9224
