My Disney Birthday Wish Came True! – June 2025 Trip Report (Updated 6/23!)

I'm so glad you got to say goodbye to the Muppets. I tried but...well...that story will come up soon in my report.
Me too, I do really hope they bring it back somewhere! And oh no! I'm sorry you missed saying goodbye, I'll keep an eye out for your TR updates!
Also, even though I am mostly a die-hard Pop girl now, I agree that deluxe resorts should not have to share a bus. Crowded, it takes too long to either get to the park or get home, just not ok.
Yup, totally agree. And I swear they run fewer busses to the deluxe resorts, it seems every time we're waiting for a bus we'll see multiple buses for the All Stars before a bus ever shows up for the YC/BC.

Add me to the entitled group. Drives me nuts some days that the deluxes share buses. I don't even like the Kidani and Jambo often share a bus at AKV. In the early morning peak times, they do often split the buses. I try to stay at the first stop (especially if I have my mom with me who uses a scooter). There have been several times that we get to our resort and the driver practically has to beg people to get off the bus for a few minutes to allow the scooter off. So annoying.
We should start a No Shared Bus for Deluxe club :rotfl2: Seriously though, it is supper annoying they share, I really wish they would have separate buses!

Day 2, Part 4: Dinner at Club Level

We last left off leaving HS.

We got back to the WL right at 5:15, and after dropping our purchases off at the room, made our way to the lounge to grab dinner.

The hors d’oeuvres this evening were SO good! They had a cold chicken salad that was amazing, a regular salad with a dressing I’m dying to find a recipe for, a bison lettuce cup, and then the warm dishes were a chicken dish and a sausage dish.

PXL_20250604_215149097.jpg

We tried most of everything. I noticed though my mom didn’t get any of the sausage dish, so I asked her why not, and her response was “I wasn’t in the mood for sausage.” However she had a stack of charcuterie meats on her plate so of course I had to call her out since there was definitely sausage there! :rotfl2:

I hate to say it, but the hors d’oeuvres here were significantly better than over at CSR.

I also picked up a sauvignon blanc and grabbed my mom a beer and cider so she could make a snakebite.

We really enjoyed this meal there this evening, and went back to get seconds of some of our favorites.

After eating we decided to go finish unpacking and rest a bit. Before leaving the lounge I had to show my mom the chocolate train!

We then headed back to the room to finish unpacking and rest a bit. While resting my mom somehow swung her arm over to the night stand and ended up knocking her snakebite she had gotten earlier off onto the floor! Oh no! Fortunately, the glass didn’t break, but we did end up using almost all the towels cleaning up the mess. Oops!

Next up: A Perfect Ending to the Day!

Is this new or there for a special reason? I don't think it was there last February.
Good question, I actually don't know! When the CM gave me the tour of the lounge she pointed it out, but didn't really say much about it other than that everything was chocolate.
We have found the lounge food to be very good. :)
I was very impressed with the food here, every night was delicious!

Wow! The food looks amazing!! Someday I'd love for you to do a compare and contrast / ranking of the club lounges.
It was sooooo good! Funny you mention comparing the different clubs, I've actually started a spreadsheet to compare them all, once we stay in each I'll post my review! I will say that WL is towards the top, we really enjoyed our stay there and the lounge!

Joining in! I was there towards the end of May and was really happy to see the Muppets one last time! So many memories for me with this show. We will really miss it.
Club Level at WL looks great. I’m one of the odd people who doesn’t love WL. I have enjoyed my stays there but definitely not my favorite.
I do really like Gran Destino tower, we have stayed many times. I’m glad you tried it out. I have never done Club level anywhere.
My favorite resort is YC and I know you and your mom enjoy it there as well.
Crescent Lake is my all time favorite area.
Thanks to your reports and your mom, I had a snakebite at R&C in March and loved it! I have it on my list to get again on my next trip.

Hello! Just catching up here! Happy Belated Birthday to you! I love being in WDW on my birthday too and it works out because my birthday is early December and I love Christmas down there anyway so it's a win-win!

Your club level food actually looks really good. I have never stayed CL but I have my first CL stay booked this September with friends. I can't wait to try it!

I'm glad your mom was getting around okay with her broken foot! She's trooper!

I'm so happy we got to see it one last time! Definitely going to miss this one, I wish Disney would stop getting rid of things we love.

It was really good! We really liked WL, but as people who hate taking the bus, we didn't like that other than MK, we had to bus everywhere. For a more laid back/resort focused trip it was wonderful though. I couldn't believe how calm it was there, so different than other Disney resorts!

The tower was gorgeous, I loved the room there. I wasn't overly impressed with their club level though, but the rest of the resort was great!
My favorite resort is YC and I know you and your mom enjoy it there as well.
Haha, us too!
Crescent Lake is my all time favorite area.
Yup, us too. We're big Epcot people, so being able to easily walk there is key.
Thanks to your reports and your mom, I had a snakebite at R&C in March and loved it! I have it on my list to get again on my next trip.
That's great! Aren't they good? So refreshing.

It was so good, this CL had some of the best food, we really enjoyed everything there! I hope you enjoy your CL stay, which resort are you going to?
I'm glad your mom was getting around okay with her broken foot! She's trooper!
Thanks, me too! She really is a trooper, I'm so impressed with her.

Hello everyone, happy Monday! Just popping in with a quick RL update.

So I took a staycation the past week to get things done around the house. I am that person that has 100 things I want to do around the house and start projects a lot, but then never finish them because I run out of time. Seriously whoever decided weekends should only be two days sucks. Anyways, besides the jungle that my yard had become that needed to be tamed, and a big closet cleanout, I FINALLY got around to framing and hanging some of my FArts art! I still have about half of them to frame, and four to hang up which I hope to get done today (last day of staycation ), but it's progress! These staycations are pretty awesome, I've been saying for years I needed to take one and I'm glad I finally did!

We've also been doing some updates to our upcoming trips and added yet another one (gotta get our money's worth out of these APs!). So we updated our September 2026 trip to be a split stay so we can check out the Poly club level and we snagged it with a bounce back which is really the only way we'd be able to afford the Poly club level. So we're getting close to our goal of checking out every club level. The only one we had yet to find a discount on and book is the YC! I mean, I get why the YC is so popular, but I didn't realize the club level there was too!

Then for the extra trip we booked, we decided to book a quick FArts one in January again. This is a tentative trip, but it's still nice to have one in the books!

Alright, that's it for this update. I'll try to get another TR update posted later today! Hope everyone has a good week!

I'm sorry your mom knocked over her drink but it is reassuring to know that she has started her glass collection already. Can't wait to see what she has there at the end of the trip.

Wow you got a lot done on your staycation. I'm supposed to be off most of the summer (due to the change in my contract and having to use my accumulated vacation days) but I find that I have to work for at least an hour every day because of our searches. I have a list of stuff to get done around here over the summer so hopefully I can get to it soon.

And hearing about your upcoming trips is really making me rethink Thanksgiving. I already have FOMO about it. I mean, what if I did go?? Hmm...deep thoughts.

Spoiler alert....this isn't the only glass tragedy of the day, or the trip! :rotfl2: Funny enough, she didn't actually collect too many this time around since WL does this cool thing where they have bins out in the hall in front of every pair of rooms to put dirty dishes and glasses, so we cleaned out our stash every day.

It's been nice to get through some of these tasks. I still have more I want to do, but to actually check a few items off my list feels so good! Good luck getting through your list!

Haha, not to be a bad influence....but you should totally do it 8-)

Day 2, Part 5: A Perfect Ending to the Day!

We last left off spending some time unpacking and taking a break in the room.

Around 8 we made our way back to the lounge to see what desserts and cordials were available this evening.

The desserts at the WL really put other club levels to shame. They had an apple cranberry cobbler with vanilla ice cream that was AMAZING. I wish other club levels would have stuff like this!

Besides the cobbler, they had the standard small tarts and cups of sweets.

For cordials they had Baileys, Kahlua, Grand Marnier, and Frangelico. My mom got a Baileys, but I stuck with wine. My mom also got herself a cup of coffee.

We brought the coffee and drinks back to the room after enjoying the desserts in the lounge. Our plan was to drop them off, grab mom a sweater and then head out again, but somehow mom ended up knocking her new coffee off the nightstand! I swear this nightstand was sloped or something, how did she do this twice in a matter of hours?!?! We ended up using the remaining towels in the room cleaning up this new mess.

Oh well, we’re clumsy, I guess!

After cleaning up the mess, we made our way downstairs to check out the store. On the way I snapped a shot of the view from the "fireworks window."

PXL_20250605_003452412.MP.jpg

I ended up getting some Wilderness Lodge socks and a gorgeous WL sweater. After shopping we had to get a quick picture of the totem pole.

PXL_20250605_005831234.MP.jpg

After shopping it was a bit before 9, so I suggested we head outside to see if we could get a spot to watch the Electric Water Pageant.

We found two chairs right in front of Geyser Point and settled in to wait for the show.

It turns out we were in for a surprise because at 9:20 the MK fireworks started and we could see them from our seats!

PXL_20250605_012147761.jpg

Not the best view, but still awesome to see!

The second those ended, the EWP began.

This was so fun to see, and from so close! Last time we saw this was from our room in the Contemporary in the tower so it was a bit further away!

Overall it was a fantastic, albeit low key, evening.

Once the show was over we headed back upstairs to shower and relax a bit before bed.

Next up: Arts and Architecture Tour at Wilderness Lodge

I so appreciate that they haven't changed or retired the water pageant. Exactly the same as when I was a kid and I couldn't love it more.
