Just came back last night. Boy did we do alot of eating! First day, lunch Wolfgang Puck's express, BBQ pizza and four cheese pizza, awesome! Dinner that night, Chef Mickey's, awesome character interaction, horendous food, I should have listened to others advice. Next morning Cinderella's round table for breakfast, now I know what all the fuss was about, it was incredible. The food was delicious, the CM's made our daughters feel like royalty, the second we sat down a Snow white came right up to us, no waiting! Pecos Bill for lunch was ok, the fixins bar was great, but the food was just that, ok. The next day we did the Princess lunch at Epcot, the food was barely edible, I know I might get flammed for this, but unless you really enjoy cold fish, this will not be for you. We had to wait until we had desset to even set eyes on a princess! But at least Ariel was there, she was beautiful. Next Le Cellier for dinner, I really had high hopes for this one, but it was really just ok. Our server was wonderful, but the food was just typical fare you would get at a local steakhouse. Next day the Sci fi for lunch, again, I should have listened to others. The food was ok, my chicken sandwich was dry and rather boring, shakes were good though. It kind of freaked me out eating in the dark though. Hollywood and Vine for dinner, this was a great buffet, definately worth the money. Next day, Crystal Palace for dinner, another great buffet. Awesome character interaction. Worth the money. Next day, Boatwrights for breakfast, pecan pancakes, to die for! Banana stuffed french toast with strawberry sauce, yum! Ohana for dinner, I just wasn't impressed. I thought the whole cousin thing was cute, but the food just ok. I hope some of these reviews are helpful.

We haven't eaten at Chef Mickey's in about three years. We liked it at the time. Could you be more descriptive of the problems with the food? We have PS's for it.

I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news. I had heard from a number of people that the food was just kind of gross, but I felt I needed to find out for myself. Let me just say that the character interaction is great, the restaurant itself is nice, the monorail being right there is another interesting feature. But, the food was like a cafeteria style food, the only thing that I liked were the cookies. I am not saying that my opinion is the end all, but,I would have to say it is kind of hard to pay that much for cafeteria style food.

Loved reading your report! I have to agree with you about Ariel at PSlunch-- wasn't she just gorgeous in that dress?!?!

Thanks for the reviews. I just did one too from our recent trip and like you we loved hollywood and vine and crystal palace as usual.

I agree about Chef Mickey's. Totally NOT worth the $75 for us 3. The food was just so mediocre---not much variety and the desserts were just so lackless. Ice cream (with candies for toppings), rice krispy treats and a few other cookies and 2 mousse-type cakes that were dry and tasteless. We thought the food at ASMovies was 100 times better! At least it was hot and fresh and tasted good.

Character interaction was great--but I wouldn't do it again for dinner. Possibly breakfast next time, just to see the difference or if we had a bad night or something.

Chef Mickey's isn't about the food, lol. Actually I liked the food, dh didn't. It was a buffet, fruits that were fresh, sausage and bacon, Mickey waffles and pancakes. Little muffins. They had an awesome chicken alfredo egg dish and some interesting breakfast pizzas (didn't try those). They also had Krispy Kreme donuts.

The OJ was very fresh and they gave the kids juice boxes (they gave us extra which we saved for that day at the park).

My dd's loved the waving of the napkins and all the characters. THAT is what made it worth every penny.

We have done Chef Mickey's for the last 4 years for dinner on our 1st day and then breakfast on our last day. We have that set up again for next month. We have always enjoyed the food, service and character interaction. :)

Even though you didn't like your chicken sandwich do you think it's worth it just to go to Sci-Fi for the atmosphere for the kids?? We have a ps in July. Should we cancel and do Brown Durby instead? :sunny:

DawnCT1,

I have *never* really cared for the Chef Mickey's dinner buffet food. And I'm not a buffet snob at all--in fact, I LOVE Cape May at the Beach Club and enjoyed the one at the Grand Floridian. The Chef Mickey's dinner buffet gets a bit too close to the food at The Old Country Buffet, if you know what I mean. I found very little on it that I wanted to eat and that was back in 2001. I see it hasn't improved.

Exactly---more of an Olde Country Buffet---but at least at OCB they have more choices. I don't need to spend $75 to see characters, I can see them in the park included in the price of admission. For that much money there should be a Vegas-style buffet with ice sculptures (of Mickey and the crew of course), and food that is fit for a King. Not runny ice cream for dessert and rice krispy treats. I was shocked by the whole buffet--I think I was expecting so much more than it was. My son liked it and that's all that matters---but for us, it wasn't all it was cracked up to be.
