On our second day we had a PS for 8:30 am at the Crystal Palace for breakfast. Well we missed the bus for the MK by seconds so we had to wait 20 min for the next bus. By the time we got to the park it was 9 am but we decided to try and get in anyway. The CM were very friendly and said it wasn't a big deal that we were late. We waited about 20 minutes before being seated. Our server was Natalie and she was very helpful explaining how the characters would come to each and every table but that it would take about 1 10 minutes to see all of the characters. It was very organized...Pooh and Eeyore work in one direction and Tigger works in the other direction. To see Piglet you must go up to the center of the room and join a line as he does not work around the tables. We actually only got to see Tigger and Piglet b/c we wanted to get going in the park. Natalie was great with the refills of coffee and oj. The buffet was very good-lots of fresh fruit and my bf loved the made-to-order omelet station. I tried one of the waffles with the pooh and friends faces on them but found them to be very dry despite all the syrup I put on them. The scrambled eggs were perfect and the bacon nice and crisp. The croissants were also great--hot out of the oven. I have done this character breakfast a couple of times and it always is very organized--a thumbs up!! Total with tax and tip=$36.19
For dinner we had PS at the California Grill for 6:50pm. My bf had told me to schedule one meal at a really nice restaurant so we decided on the advice of family members and some reviews here that the CG would be the place to go. We arrived right on time for our PS and were seated immediately. The seat they gave us was in the wine room against a window overlooking Epcot off in the distance. Of course we couldn't really see Epcot because of the large bird dropping on the window blocking our view. We should have just gotten up and left right then! Our server Judy was awful--the worse server I have ever had anywhere (including McDonalds!!!!)
She took our drink order and then never returned. The other girl working the wine room (which probably has about 8 tables total) came over and told us that if we need anything we could just ask either one--we reminded about the drinks--still didn't see them. Finally about 15 minutes later we got our drinks and placed our order. To start we ordered the triple cheese flatbread. This was the best part of the meal. Our appetizers came next. I ordered the Hearts of Romaine Salad which was good but nothing spectacular. My bf ordered the Goat Cheese Ravioli which was tasty but a very small portion. For our main entrees my bf chose the Potato and Spring Garlic Ravioli which had absolutely no taste--he didn't even finish eating them. He would have preferred more of the other ravioli he ordered. I chose the Grilled Pork tenderloin and made a point to ask for No Mushrooms as I just plain don't like them. Our server had about a two minute conversation on whether I was allergic or just didn't like. Well, Judy once again came through and my entree was delivered with a pile of mushrooms. She never came back with refills and by the time she came back to check on our entrees I was practically finished--I piled all the mushrooms on the side and she never even acknowledge the mistake. We decided enough was enough and skipped the dessert. I would never again go to this restaurant, you can find much better places to eat in Disney for the half the price. The service alone is reason enough not to recommend this place. Total including tax and a significantly reduced tip=$86.00
