Only got 3 nites stay this time - DH, DD &DS got 4- I had work constraints.
stayed at POR -
first nite rest of family took bus to DD and ate a RFC..They had an hour wait so they walked around DD. they all had burgers and were pleased. Personally for me I am not a big fan of RFC. but they were happy.
Next morning they took bus to MK. Did not eat at food court in POR because it was way to crowded. they chose to get on bus at North wing and eat a nosh in MK. Found this park to be quite empty(so unusual) was a Tuesday, specifically 11/8.. I booked them ressies for Lunch at LTT (aren't I a nice mom) and DH had Beef barley soup which he loved and a turkey sandwich which he devoured. DS had new england clam chowder and a burger while DD had a burger. All of my family thinks LTT has the best burgers in MK.. We always opt for this route over a fast food stand. If you get an ADR the wait is nothing and the price is just slightly more than you would pay at the counter. On the plus side you are being served and in total air conditioning.
Well I came in around 6:00 pm that nite and we bussed again to DD. The parks were almost closing and I didn't want to waste my pass on just an hour.
We ended up in Portobellos which I believe is a sister restaurant for Fultons.
We waited 45 minutes for a table.
let me tell you DD was so packed that night. Every restaurant was booked. You couldn't even get into Earl of sandwich or even have a margaritta at Captain Jacks.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here. Service impeccable. Kids just had a pizza. But DH & I both had pasta dishes. Mine was seafood and pasta, more lke a fra diablo and DH's was like a fettuccine. Seafood good and firm, pasta cooked al dente which we both love.
I started with a salad which was just okay. nothing to rave about but wouldn't complain. All in all, nice place. I would return and great martinis
On Wednesday morning, once again we skipped breakfast for we were to far from main building. We went into MGM which literally has no breakfast items at all. Something should be done about that. Ended up eating fruit and juice and some coffee.
Left MGM around 11ish and headed over to Epcot. The food & wine festival was on and we just munched around the all the countries. Will tell you my favorite was the lobster & corn chowder at the good ole USA......
some runner ups were Poland, with perogi and kielbasi and the quesidilla(?) in Mexico was to die for. Enjoyed the cheddar cheese soup in Canada and the lamb in New Zeland The best dessert hands down was the chocolate creme brulee in France. And well lets just say I tasted all the beers in most of the countries. was a great afternoon.
For dinner we had ressies in Artists Point. Our first time there. Service was wonderful. Kids had the usual kids fare. DD had non alcoholic pina colada which she loved. But their entrees were off kids menu. they enjoyed Nothing great to report. DH had prime rib which he enjoyed and I had the fish of the day which was salmon. Nicely done. I enjoyed this restaurant. Prices are high and not sure If I would go back again. But was a nice time.
Next day we did do breakfast in food court. I was not impressed at all. Food is very good but it is endless trying to get all your food. We stood in one line for our eggs, another for our kids waffles and yet another for bread which we had to toast ourselves. And then you stand in yet another line to pay and still have to get your own coffee. Not my cup of tea so to speak. I rather like being served.
Lunch was at MGM Primetime Cafe. We always enjoy this place. I love their meatloaf, DH got the pot roast which is also to die for. Both kids got well, you know,,,burgers. yet they enjoyed them. We forced ourselves to get the smores dessert.. It is just wonderful.. I suggest don't order a shake and get the smores instead.. So worth it.. food great, service good and a fun time always in this restaurant. Totally worth the money.
Dinner that evening was at Yachtsman Steak House at the Yacht Club. We were meeting two other couples who had just come to WDW later that evening and wanted to eat somewhere close to the BW where they were staying. we chose the yachtsman because we had never eaten there before and wanted to try it.
Well,,,it is a wonderful place for steak. Yes it is pricey, but the food, service, ambience is just absolutely wonderful. And we actually sent all our kids next door to Beaches and Cream for dinner which they loved so much better. The kids had a 45 minute wait so DH & I hung with them while the other sets of parents got settled in their rooms. Kids loved B&C. They had burgers, chicken, fries and milkshakes. Very friendly place. After they ate, we sent them to the room for a little R&R and our table was ready at Yachtsman.
DH&I shared mussels in wine (just yummy) mussels not overcooked at all. Our friends also got shrimp and one got onion soup. All were happy. I loved our waiter for he was so honest. He steered us away from what he felt was not the best choice and told us what most people really liked.
I had the NY strip with bluecheese dressing served with au grautin potatoes. (omg, beef was so tender) DH had the filet. I actually thought I heard him moan when he took his first bite. Other friends both went with steaks as well. We also got a side of creamed spinach.. Was delectable.
For dessert, we split a berry cheesecake, key lime pie and chocolate mousse. Had a small taste of each, Well the plates were empty, so enough said.
Unfortunately the next day we caught a 8:30 bus to the airport and had to go home.
I loved my short trip this year and would definitely go back to Yachtsman again. I liked it much better then Le Cellier.
I might be the minority here but then again I loved the restaurant in France as well.
Hope this review helps make some decisions for you.
