And don't feel responsible. When we lost our dog, she had been feeling poorly and my Dad had taken her to the vet. During the middle of the blood draw, she did the same thing as you described. The vet believed that she had a heart attack. When their little bodies are under stress lots of things can happen. But what gives me comfort is she died in the arms of someone who loved her. Just like your Diana.

I'm sorry for your loss, Donna. Diana got to spend one more loving day with you & Fergie, instead of going at the vets. And while Fergie saw what happened, it's better for her this way. She knows why Diana is gone and not that she just disappeared. Give her special attention in the coming weeks. She's going to need it too.

I am so sorry. We lost our Barney kitty 2 years ago to the same thing. It was heartbreaking but I had 11 wonderful years with my furry little man.
