My DH went to Sonics

Going to Sonics again tomorrow morning for breakfast. I went to IHOP this morning and Mickey D's yesterday morning. I am having Sonic withdrawals. I'll probably get the usual Pancake and Sausage on a stick.......they're excellent. I thought they would be too greasy, but I was beside myself when I tried the first one. Chili Tater Tots sound GOOD. I'll try them for lunch one day. Still have another week here in OK, so I'm sure I'll be going there for lunch again. I'll have to try the funky drinks if I get the gumption.

Hey, DHofSplshMtn99. I highly recommend the Cherry Sprites, but the slushies are good too. The slushies are excellent ways to cool down on hot summer days.

I was surprised about the pancake on a stick was so good, too. I tried their b'fast burrito the other day, it was pretty good, too.

You are going to be so depressed when you do get home. Those sonic cravings are terrible. Browneyes doesn't help much either.

LOL! I came this () close to eating at In-N-Out while in Vegas a few weeks ago. Jeff (or anyone who can answer), have you eaten at Steak-N-Shake? If so, how does it compare to In-N-Out or Sonic? We have a S-N-S not far away & one being built even closer. We've heard that we *HAVE* to try it, but want more than one or two opinions before driving out that far for a burger (about 15 miles).

Sonic is great. The one in Tomball, Texas just north of Houston has a classic car meet every Friday night and a couple of the carhops skate (or used to). It's like being back in the sixties.

Sonic reminds me of the Dog N Suds drive in back home in Southern Illinois. Root Beer in frosted mugs, heavenly!

The green apple slush things are really good on a hot day. Great burgers but they're expensive for fast food(worth it though).

Hey, DHofSplshMtn99, we're in Norman! Just south of OKC. My DH works in OKC. Welcome to the neighborhood. Glad to hear you like Sonic. Hope you enjoy your stay in the area.

You might want to try a "real" vanilla Coke. They add vanilla syrup and it's better than Coke's version. I also like the limeades and the fruit slushies (the ones with strawberries, etc.) Yum. This is making me hungry.

Thanks MerryPoppins, I'll have to try the "real" vanilla coke. I have had Coke's version and tastes almost like cream soda. I went to the OKC Memorial today.....it was a POWERFUL memorial. It's nice to know the people will be forever remembered and to show the rest of the world that we can and will overcome.

Actually it's probably better if you don't eat it. You know the whole, if you don't know what you're missing you'll be happy thing & all. Chapps & A&W are the only places in the area that even come (but it's still not that close) close to In-N-Out & I'd gladly drive 15 miles to get to an In-N-Out. I think Sonic is ok if you're comparing it to McDonald's or Wendy's, but it doesn't hold a candle to In-N-Out & I'd rather drive up 10 miles away to the Carl's Jr than to go to the Sonic down the street.
