My DH passed away

My DH passed away on July 1st from prostate cancer. I have been hesitant to post anything about it because I don't want to seem pitiful. I'm doing OK (at least so far). He was a faithful Christian and I'm quite sure he is with Jesus and we'll be reunited someday.

Just wanted to post because I know some of you were aware of his illness and struggles. The end of his life was constant pain. I urge all men to be screened early. They do not routinely screen for prostate cancer until age 50. DH was only 43 when he was dianosed. Pay attention to warning signs and symptoms. It could save a life because this type of cancer is very treatable if caught early.

I am so sorry for your loss. I hope that men listen up and get checked. My dad died of colon cancer - at age 51. Cancer sneaks up on you.

awwww, Honey I am so sorry Yes, you are right...all men regardless of age should be screened for this cancer even if you have to pay for it yourself. It's so very important to catch it in the early stages

My goodness! What a terrible loss! I am so glad to hear he was spiritually prepared. I am sure that gives you great comfort as you go through such a painful time in your life.
