Our daughter has been accepted in the Disney College Program so DH and I will be going down in August and in December. My DH is definitely not a Disney fan, but he will go along (not usually enthusiastically) with what I plan. So I'd like to plan some stuff that isn't "park" related. I have 2 - 1 week periods that I need to fill up with stuff he would like. I would absolutely love any and all suggestions.

Thanks so much!!!!

For August- try some water sports at Grand Floridian. They rent jet skis, boats, parasailing, etc. There are also bike rentals at many resorts to explore with.

For December- try a Segway tour in EPCOT(I know you said outside the park, but I hear this is great). There will be tons of decorations to admire in the resorts. Try Victoria and Alberts for a celebration meal. Go on a carriage ride at Wilderness lodge.

You should check out allears.net and click on things to do outside the parks, they are very helpful.

Take him to Jellyrolls one night, that's a great place for adults to play!!!

Does he golf? You can't go wrong with any of the courses at WDW. Then a nice dinner some place. I like the Segway idea, and renting a boat in the lagoon too. Not a Disney fan? What's wrong with him???

Arrange trips at the end of february for ESPN the Weekend at WDW! My son and I have been several times for this event and we have a blast. Rub elbows with famous players and ESPN personalities. :cool1:

You can do some of the behind the scenes tours. The train tour in MK is great, we did this 1 1/2 weeks ago. The behind the seeds tour is also interesting. You could visit the hotels especially on the Dec trip. My husband (at first) didn't want to go. He did finally in 2001 and in 2002 bought an AP!! Now he actually asks to go. Maybe Disney will rub off on him after a few trips!

Make ADRs for some restaurants. My DH's love of Disney was found through his stomach. The food is his favorite part.

I understand you! My DH isn't a fan either, which means I take the kids and he stays home :sad2:? If he was to to join us, I would try to pick a hotel that he would like to stay at, maybe with a great pool. I would suggest you do a few non-disney things like going to the movies. There is a complex at DDT. When on vacation my DH likes to just lounge or bar-b-que. What does your DH like to do? Myabe he could bring a few books or DVD's that he would like to catch up on, while you get to go to the parks? While we haven't done this yet, maybe he would be interested in one of those float planes that give you a tour to see the wildlife on one of the local lakes. You could also plan a beach day or drive out to see Cape Canaveral? Is he into gardening? There is local arboretum that might be of interest. You can go to trip advisor and you can pull up a list of activites to do in Orlando (beside WDW) for more suggestions. Good luck with your upcoming trips!
