My DH got a promotion today!!

He works for Staples and we just found out today that he will be getting his own store in 6 weeks

He is a Sales Manager now and will be a General Manager. He has been waiting several months and has heard so many rumors from so many different people about what store he would be at and when it would be causing many sleepless nights and stressful days and he got the official word and offer today

So...I was thinking of sending him something....any suggestions?

Do you think sending something to him would embarass him? I bet he would appreciate something private at home. Maybe you could get your son involved by making a card or a cake.

When I was growing up, whenever one of my parents would get a raise or a promotion, we went out to dinner at a nice restaurant to celebrate. My parents involved us in celebrating their accomplishments which I think gave me a deeper appreciation of who they were as individuals and as simply Mom and Dad.

Does the promotion mean you will have to move?

Congratulations!! Like others have said, maybe a family party at home (do it up with streamers, balloons,etc.) and special grown up dinner out at a favorite restaurant. BTW I liked the idea of a bouquet of staplers/supplies.

Thanks everyone!!

I think what I am going to do is Matt & I are going to have a little surprise dinner/party for him on Saturday night. His favorite is salmon and actually Matt likes it too I will pick up some of that, steam some brocolli, make a salad and have dinner using the china that everyone told me I had to have when we got married that we have never used LOL and have a special dinner. Even pick up some sparkling cider so Matt can have some. Saturday we can make him a cake and get some balloons and stuff, should be fun!! It will be just the 3 of us
