I was out of town last night for business. I closed the bond deal this morning at 9 and then drove from Seattle to my office in central Washington. Just as I walked into my office (right around noon) - one of my employees hands me the phone and says "it's your husband - he is in the hospital and he needs you to come get him!"
It turns out that around 3 AM this morning he got hit with a bad kidney stone (I suppose they are all bad). He gutted it out until he got our DD safely off to school and then drove himself all the way into town (a good 35 minute drive) and took himself to the emergency room. Poor guy was in a ton of pain. They doped him up with LOTS of painkillers because he was hurting so bad, and sent him to the clinic for a series of xrays and a meeting with the Urologist from Wenatchee (who just happened to be on his one day a week remote practice visit here in Moses Lake). He literally spent the entire day there doing xray after xray.
Unless he (by some miracle) passes the darn kidney stone tonight - he is scheduled for the surgical procedure tomorrow morning to remove it. This is of course quite routine - and I am sure many other DISers have undergone this... but I sure would appreciate your good thoughts and wishes on his behalf. I believe it helps.
Some Valentines day huh?! I guess I will have to display my love by making sure he is well cared for.
Edited so I could note that there is an update on page 3.
