Thanks to a thread on this board, I was advised that some Delta flights were cancelled and no one was told. I decided to check on line, sure enough I couldn't find my flight listed. I called and they confirmed that it was cancelled. Good news is that she offered me any flight that day and now we will be arriving exactly 30 minutes earlier :)

Scary though that I wouldn't have known unless I read it here. Another reason to read the DIS:) :)

I just called Delta directly about an hour ago and asked about my flight. The representive was very helpful. My flight was not canceled. In fact it is fully booked. Apparently it is one on the merge flights. My flight leaves Nov. 4.

Just wanted to post this. After 9/11, I kept checking our flight to MCO and it was still on. I also kept track of the same flight leaving each day. All of a sudden the flight started to be cancelled. Mine was still listed. Well, now because people are starting to fly that once cancelled flight is now flying. So if you check daily to see the flight status, don't get discouraged or panick...it may be that the flight was not as populated as it should have been.

In addition to seeing whether your flight is still on the flight schedule and/or checking your itinerary, go to reservations and see whether they are still selling tickets for your flight! If not, it's in "limbo" and very likely to be cancelled in the future. Unfortunately you may not be able to do anything about it until they actually cancel, except for looking a possible alternatives.

When trying to see if they are still selling tickets to a flight, pretend to book an unrestricted (full fare) coach seat. Note that even this is not sure fire because the flight may be totally sold out.

Often a flight will not show during an economy booking session because it is not one of the five cheapest flights in terms of seat allotments still available.
