My December ADRs...what do you think?

We usually try to sneak in one signature dining spot and a character meal to keep the little two fellas happy. We are not big buffet people but have usually made an exception for Boma. This is our 21 family vacation to WDW. We will be travelling with our sons 21, 19, 17, 15, 10 and 4 during the Christmas break.

Concourse Steak House (first night family likes to dine at Monorail resort)
Tony's (willing to consider change)
Kona (firm)
Tutto Italia (firm/ Candlelight)
Boma (might switch if can get into Yak and Yeti)
Puck's Cafe (firm)
Yacht Club Galley (willing to consider change)
LTT character dinner (usually have lunch here/would consider change)
Narcoossee (pretty firm)
breakfast on last day at Boatwright's (willing to consider change)

Is there a breakfast spot that really does a Christmas Eve breakfast really special for the holiday (special Christmas fare, etc.)?

Is the Concourse Steakhouse still open? I thought I had heard that it was closing.

I would choose somewhere other than Tony's, but that might be just me.

For breakfast? We have enjoyed sweet potato pancakes, their version of Tonga Toast with strawberry topping, and the blueprint omelette.

Concourse will still be open in December and I have an ADR. I questioned them about the closing, as well.

Tony's--I was looking for something in the MK--already doing LTT, Kona and Concourse which are nearby. Not interested in the castle now that it's signature priced. I have had good food at Tony's in the past. They offer some great desserts which go along way with my crowd!

Tony's may work for you but don't forget about Crystal Palace as an option.

Did some tweaking of the plans...

Dropped Concourse, Tony's and Narcoossee and added Cali Grill (haven't been in years), Turf Club (just because everyone in the family likes to dine at "new" places).

We switched from Boatwright's breakfast to the one at Whispering Canyon (although that one is still may be switched to something else as I think there are other menus that look better for breakfast (we have had breakfast there a few times). We are just more interested in an excuse to get over to see WL decorated for Christmas than we are at seeing POR at that time of year. (Stayed at both resorts last year so nothing personal...)

Still need one more dinner for our final evening...open to suggestions...

I know you guys are not big fans of buffets, but what about family style at Ohana's...served at your table like LTT. Since you have a 4 yo, he would probably enjoy this. This child activities are great. Try to make ressie during MK fireworks and get window seat. We usually get the first ressie at 5pm and always get a window seat. This is my favorite place to eat.

Oh, also please accept this... . Earlier post of mine discouraged Boatwrights. Sorry, I did not realize it was specifically breakfast. We had dinner and yuck yuck yuck. I have not ate breakfast there.

Enjoy wilderness lodge for breakfast. WL has the best christmas decorations. The theme, time of year and decorations just fit each other perfectly. The atmosphere makes me feel as though we are in the mountains and it is snowing outside at that resort during Christmas.

We SOOO loved Ohana! My 4 yr old son and 9 yr old daughter thought it was AWESOME! Hubby and I really enjoyed the food and watching the kids during the activities. We are FOR SURE booking this one again! Actually besides Chef Mickey it will be our only repeat!

I think Concourse Steakhouse is open until April of next year.
We have reservations there in December.

I have heard Concourse has good food. This will be our first time there so I can't speak from experience. You might want to keep that one since they will be no more after April 08. JMHO


A good excuse to go to Wilderness Lodge is Artist Point. We ate there last year and really enjoyed our meal. Wilderness Lodge was BEAUTIFUL for the Christmas season.

Your reservations look good; I love Turf Club it has become one of my favorite resturants- you have to get the chocolate lava cake for deserret; it is one of my favorites when I visit the world.

Ohana is also a lot of fun, especially with a group. It is very good food and I wouldn't consider it a buffet. Also a very resonable price for the amount of food you get as it is all you care to enjoy.

Whispering Canyon is also a fun place; although I have always done dinner there never breakfast.

Have Fun... It looks like you are eating at a lot of great resturants.

We had dinner at LTT a few weeks back. I must say it left a lot to be desired. Our PS was at 8:30. They sat us all the way in the back by the kitchen area. I had a view of the large partition that holds all of the silverware and dishes and we listened to that the whole time we were there.

The server was very difficult to understand and all's he wanted to do is take our food and plates away. It took over 45 minutes for the first character to arrive and this was near closing time when the place was emptying out. Dale never even made it to our table. The food was fair at best.

I asked for the dressing on the salad to be put on the side with the salad dry and didn't happen. The pork was like a hockey puck. The meat was good as long as it was eaten within the first 5 minutes of coming out. The turkey was ok. DD did like the mac n cheese. The potatoes were good...but definitely not worth the price. Was not at all impressed. Would DEFINITELY choose CP or even the Plaza next time, there's no comparison.

I am a little nervous about this one, myself! It has been several years since we have had dinner at LTT, but we have enjoyed many, many lunches there over the years. DH really wants DS4 to have a character meal--and we are not big buffet fans...so...We also read something about the characters having Holiday attire and thought that might be festive just a few days before Christmas.

Your ADR's look great. I'm glad you picked Calif. Grill as it is our favorite place to dine at WDW. We also love Boatwright's for breakfast. There Sweet Potato pancakes are very good.

Wow! Have our plans changed! Amazing how one day can change everything! Something really big happened in our family and now we had to cut our trip in half. We had to pay and change our airfare, etc. We also paid off our WDW package and it's all a done deal. We decided that since we are only going to be there for five nights we are not going to do a signature meal. We are not willing to give up any of our regular meals in order to "double up" for a signature. When we were going to be there nine nights that wasn't an issue for us--we would have been glad to eat counter service one night in order to have a signature meal. I know a five day trip is a lot for many, but for us it seems short. We were there for fifteen nights last year...

Anyway, the new plans are:

Teppan Edo
Kona
Tutto Italia
Boma
Wolfgang Puck Cafe


These are all firm (except we would switch Boma to Yak and Yeti if it opens up for ressies before we go--been to Boma many times) We are very excited about all of these places. We will now not have a breakfast as we are flying out at 7:30 am and no place will be open that early on our departure day...

Sounds like a pretty good plan. We weren't wowed by either Kona or Wolfgang Puck's Cafe but they weren't bad.
