I took DD8 and DS6 school shopping today. They had these really nice cotton sweat pants on sale. One was powder blue, and the other was light pink. The Blue one said All Star Softball on the upper thigh area. The pink one said Princess University. Cute.
The fitting room was in the boys section, so I sent DD in to try on each item, and told her to come out and show me after each one, while I looked for some things for her brother. She comes out with the blue pants on, and boy did they look comfy! I told her to turn around, and what do I see? ALL STAR written across her butt.
HELL NO! Sorry, missy....I HATE those kind of pants/shorts. To me, it only calls attention to ones rearend, and there is no way I want anyone looking at my 8yo old's daughters behind.
She couldn't understand why she couldn't get them. I told her that in order for a person to read what is on her pants, it means they have to look at her butt. Did she want people looking at her butt all day? There was an older woman browsing, and when DD went back to change, in a huff, of course, the woman said "Good for you ,mom"
She then told me she has a 14yo granddaughter, and the clothes they market to young teen girls is ridiculous. I am already starting to get slim pickings for her at 8...WTH will there be for her when she is 14/15?
OY OY OY.
ALL STAR and PRINCESS went back on the rack.
