I am SO excited about my upcoming DCL cruise in October, I decided to FINALLY dig out our 2002 DCL cruise tapes and put together a video to get us and our friends (who are joining us on their first ever cruise) very excited about going!

So....I uploaded it to my site if you want to take a peek. You will need Windows Media Player to watch it and about 7 minutes of free time to kick back, relax and get your DCL fix!

I hope it works and there are no bandwidth problems!

Cool video, thanks for sharing it!!! :goodvibes Loved hearing the horn!!!

That was great! I enjoyed every minute of it. Thanks!

Great video! We leave a week from today and watching this just added to our excitement.

That was wonderful. What program did you use to make your video? Our camcorder broke on our cruise :sad2: .

I used Pinnacle Studio to capture and edit my movie.
Sorry to hear about you camcorder. Ours wasn't working all that well either on that trip, it really didn't like the moisture and humidity. The record button broke a few months ago so now I just keep it around to capture the tapes.

We are going to buy a new digital one before our Oct cruise. Hopefully I can get a lot more video since it feels like I hardly videotaped anything!!!

Which version of Pinnacle do you use? I have been looking at them & trying to decide which one will do the job well enough for us. VERY cool video!

lbgraves,

I had the 9.0 Version when I bought our Dazzle a few years ago and then recently I upgraded to Pinnacle Studio Plus (9.4.3) for about $39 US I think it was. Just make sure to download the patch if you get Studio. I love Studio for the editing features but I like Roxio Media Creator so much more for the titles and overlays but they have different working formats :guilty:

Yea. Which version do you use. I have Studio 9 plus and it has more than I could hope for. I burn to dvd and am looking to go to dual layered disk as soon as the price of disks get lower. Drives can be had for under $100.

I do have the Roxio DVD burner I just need a way to get the VHS tapes & newer digital camera tapes to the computer. We don't have a USB connection on the camera. :( I didn't know to look for that when we got it. The version 9 is the one I thought would be best for us. Now I am just waiting for a sale. :)

I have Pinnacle, and am the family movie maker... =) If you buy the system, it comes with the hardware to hook your VCR up to your computer and load all that old video. I actually loaded video from when my husband and his brothers were born...... it's great!

Ibraves,

I use an Cyberlink Power Director and Power Producer software to make my DVD and videos. I liked this software brand because they provide download trail version and it did everything I wanted.

Pinnacle ((vesion 7 at the time)was one of the few that did not allow a trial and what I saw on the box at the time did not impress me. I have heard that verison 9 is quite nice.

Suggestion for the camera to computer:
I have recently started to copy VHS so I purchased a converter. Camera Mate version "video safe" provides a video input like you us on the TV and a USB II out put for the computer. This way you use the camera cable that conects to your TV on the input side and plug the USB into the computer. The device comes with software but my Cyberlink capture selection worked just fine.

Try that out or any device like it. Picked this up at Circuit City.

Also I found that Cyberlink PowerDirector 4 builds a really great slideshow which none of the other programs have yet to come close to.

Brian,

Thanks so much for sharing all your hardwork! We loved the part where the planes fly right over the beach.

Great Job!
