Went to WDW today to try and escape the biker madness here in Daytona, well, it is a good excuse to go, at least.
Stopped at DTD first to poke around abit and have lunch at Earl of Sandwich. Arrived around 11:30 am and DTD was already packed, parking lot was full but I lucked upon a spot, thankfullly, cus I hate driving around for 15 mins looking for a parking place. Made a beeline for Earl of Sandwich for lunch because I was starving and wanted to hit it before it became too crowded with the lunch crowd. It wasnt too crowded, thankfully. Ordered the Original 1796 ( i think) roast beef sandwichand a soda. After I filled my cup with coke and was waiting for my order, i noticed a family filling their resort mugs from Pop Century at the beverage area. Free soda for them i guess! I was a little taken aback but what can you do?? After i finished eating i wandered around the shops for a while, then headed to Epcot. After entering Epcot and seeing the Leave a Legacy display area, i decided to purchase one. My favorite aunt passed away less than 1 month ago. She was a DVC owner and visited WDW once per yr from PA/VA. So I decided on spur of the moment to purchase a tile in her memory. I am so glad I did. I think it will be a great legacy to her memory. Cant wait to see it when it is displayed. Then I wandered around Future World, then headed thru World Showcase and on to the Boardwalk. The Boardwalk was one of the last places I spent with my aunt last yr when she visited so i wanted to go hang out over there for a while in her memory. I had some ice cream at the sweet shop, then I wandered over to the ScreenDoor shop. While I was there, I overheard a CM and a guest's conversation, and the guest was an Imagineer!! He was from Calif. and just finished working on the Monsters Inc. ride at DCA. THen I took a friendship boat back to Epcot's International gateway entrance. Then walked the opposite way thru World Showcase, pokes around in some shops then headed home. All in all a nice day and the weather was absolutely gorgeous!
