my daughter is 10, is that

It's always been our policy if they're wearing a costume, they get a treat!! It's the older ones that just show up with a bag that suck all the fun out of it for us.....

So what is she going as?

Well how are you going to pick out all the good candy after she falls asleep if she doesn't go out and get any?

Jason Lyons I always imagined YOU were about 21 years old!

My 12 year old does not want to go out this year and I'm kind of upset about it. The 10 year old and 8 year old will definitely be out hauling in the loot. I need some peanut butter cups!!

10 is not too old. My parents always said jr. high was the cut off. But, I can remember spending the night with friends on Halloween and mysteriously coming home with a lot of candy.

BTW, I'm with Zurg on this one. I'm 30 and hope to get some candy out of the deal at MNSSHP on the 31st!!

No, 10 is not too old. Besides when DS gets home, I get dibs on the bubble gum!!!;) I, for one, enjoy seeing all the trick or treaters in their costumes. I don't buy into the notion that Halloween represents devil worship...Come on, lighten up.

TC:cool:

DD was 11 last year (but tall for her age and looks older) and she just decided that it was more fun for her to give out the candy to the little kids. She really enjoyed seeing all the costumes and trying to get them to ask "trick or treat".
Now DS, on the other hand was 13 and he and his friend went out for a little while, but I thought they were too old to be running through the neighborhood in camo costumes...and everyone was still leary of Sept 11 at that point. It made me very nervous.
what I can't stand is after all the little ones have stopped and you have pretty much turned off the lights, etc, , because it's getting too late, and the older kids come and ring the doorbell anyways. They look like such hoodlums sometimes.

No, 10 isn't too old. If you're that afraid of her age being too old, throw a costume Halloween party for her and her friends instead. Invite all of us on the dis to come.;)

Yes, 10 is still OK if the child is interested!

And Zurg & Jennyfyar, sorry but I'm 50, therefore more experienced at getting candy at Halloween & will be going to MNSSHP on the 25th. Don't count on a whole lot of candy being left:eek:     ;) :jester:

i went trick or treating last year and i was 15 then!! hehe and i still got alot of candy then! i dont think i will be this year though.. 16 may be a little to old!

If she wants to go, dresses up, and doesn't go out alone, sure!

Around here, most kids trick-or-treat until they start high school.

When I was growing up, there was a city ordinance mandating all trick-or-treaters must be under 12.

Well, I have a 9 year old that's an adult according to the sages that run Six Flags as we discovered today.

OK, rant over. ;) Nope, a ten year is definitely not too old to trick or treat.

10 yo is an adult by Disney ticket standards too. My 9 yo got in as kid at 6 Flags this summer though, but we went to 6 Flags over Georgia.

We have a tall 9 year old which is unfortunate in this case since they go by height. An ten year old got a kid's ticket at the next window as a matter of fact. Oh well, we only go once a year.

No, my DD is 11 and plans to go to a few houses this year.

Only problem is..........she doesn't want to dress up!!! I told her no dress up.........no trick or treat!!

I think she rather just hang around with her friends in the neighborhood!! I already gave the lecture about eggs, shaving cream etc............she will be punished and not able to IM her friends if she does anything disruptive to the neighborhood!!

IM ing is very important to her so I believe she will behave!!!

No. Halloween is one of my daughter's favorite holidays. She is 10 and is definitely going trick or treating.

Now, I'm confused!!! Since when did 'threats' become part of TorT? In all my years, I never was under That impression.

10 is NOT too old, btw. Hope she has fun!! :smooth:
