My 5 yr old is a big Rugrats/Hey Arnold/ Thornberry/etc fan. Probably to due the efforts of Mr. Eisner himself, there is no Nickelodeon on BW cable TV (or at any WDW resort). There is the Disney channel (which we have at home) along with Toon Disney (which we don't have at home). We also took advantage of the FREE video rental at the community hall. You basically have one night to keep the video. The vidoes available are every Disney film ever made (even PG). Actually when we got home, I told my daughter she could watch some Nick while we unpacked, her reply, "why don't we have Toon Disney?".

Well, you don't have to be a kid for this to work. When we were unpacking after our last trip, I said "Honey, we should get the ESPN Classic Sports channel."

LOL!! We noticed this too...betcha there's no Disney channel at any of the Universal Studios hotels, only Nickelodeon and TV Land! ;)

I've noticed that little kids don't know Mickey and Minnie,& Donald, but can name a zillion Pokemon characters and WWF wrestlers. I'm in the schools every day and find this to be very sad.

Don't worry Rumplemom, my kids only know the main Pokemon, I never bought them one card for that crap, and I'd rather die than let anyone in my house watch WWF. Even the 3 year old DS, however, can name many of the Disney characters.:)
I noticed no Nickelodeon but figured it was because of the rivalry with Universal. DD#2 loved Toon Disney, which we don't have (we only have regular Disney channel). DD#1 liked Radio Disney, which we also don't have. I tend to watch DVC en espanol, because it puts me to sleep!!!;)

My daughter, who is 4, really only knows the Disney characters, like Mickey, Donald, etc., from going to WDW. She knows the characters from the movies, like Little Mermaid, but you rarely see Mickey et al., on TV, even on the Disney channels. I wonder why that is.

Until the recent "House of Mouse" there haven't been any Mickey shows in a very long time. Even kids in the older set only know of Chip and Dale from the Rescue Rangers show and Donald from his cameos on Duck Tales. Same with Goofy and Goof Troop. I'm not really sure how old those shows are, but they are on Toon Disney (which we get on Direct TV). Honestly though, I'm not sure how I got to know Mickey Mouse....except for the Mickey Mouse Club show in the 70's.

No surprise that they don't have Nick, it is owned by Universal. Which is, of course, a rival of Disney.
You won't see too many Target advertisments at Wal*Mart either. :)
