Last week he had a cath done and they found 3 arteries 90% blocked. He met with the surgeon yesterday and is scheduled for Monday. They said he is lucky since most people he meets comes through the back door on a stretcher. LOL
He has no symptoms, never had chest pains or anything. He had the cath done as a precautionary thing because he was tiring easily and a little short of breath after a cold.

Their only concern is that since he is recovering from lung cancer it makes things a little trickier and they said it can actually "awake" the cancer. Has anyone heard this before?

Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. Thanks so much!

Wishing you dad the best, 4's. He will be in my prayers. Sure is good he had it looked into. Hope to hear a good update early next week.

I have no knoweldge on this but wanted to offer my prayers and best wishes. :grouphug:

Done.

That's a bit scary about the lung cancer. I have never heard of that before.

Prayers being sent for your Dad! It is so very scary when someone is going through health issues. Just yesterday my 85yo Dad had angioplasty since he had 3 blockages - he also has atrial fibrulation(sp?) and they have been getting that under control. He had been feling lousy for a while. I told him that he needs to get better as we leave for WDW 3 weeks from yesterday and he is the one who feeds our animals! :) He said that is his incentive to get well.

Prayers and hugs for your family. :grouphug:

Yes, I have heard of cancer becoming alive. It does not happen all the time. My MOM was a 10yr survivor of breast cancer and had her gall bladder removed and 6months later her cancer started to metestersize(sp). The drs told us when air hits cancer it can start to spread. I wish you good luck and pray this will not happen to your dad.

Hope everything goes well with your dads surgery and hope he has a fast recovery.

I hadn't heard that before. My Mom had a triple by-pass 4 years ago at the age of 85. She had had breast cancer in 1998, but is still free of it. She also has a pacemaker & is doing fine (for an 89 year old!)

Prayers for your Dad.
