My dad has passed UPDATE page 7 #94

Yes, it changes but it does go on. But, I guess you both know that don't you.
Nutsy, I'm glad things are going better for you. It's funny but my brother also had a harder time when my mom passed. But, after two years he's finally snapping out of it.
They never completely leave us.....at least that is what I choose to believe.

I sure hope my brother snaps out of before 2 years is up.........he won't even answer the phone. Plus it's his 50th Birthday on Monday and we invited him here for dinner, but he says he has too much cleaning up to do after Mum's passing. Just can't get through to him.:(

And I agree, they don't ever completely leave us....they are still here in spirit and that is so important. I still talk to my Dad and he has been gone 16 yrs. On Tuesday night I told him Mum was coming to be with him again and to look out for her........they will all (hers and my Dad's siblings) be together again.

This week was an important one in our household and I regret not phoning my Mum on Monday night with our news, but we had the possibility of more good news coming on Thursday so decided to wait and share it all at once, well she never found out any of it.....she passed early Tuesday morning and I never rang her Monday night to share the news. Yet, I feel that she knows and knew that we would be getting some really good news come Tuesday.......just seems right somehow.

My condolences on the loss of your Dad. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I am sorry for your loss

Yours to Nutsy

I know how you feel about the Disney trip

in 2000 my grandmother who was my best friend died she was like a mom to me
she died 2 weeks before our first ever trip to WDW

I wanted to cancel but everyone convinced me to go and i am glad i did
after all the stress it was very much needed
besides your Dad wouldn't want you to put your life on hold

I am terribly sorry for your loss. Prayers for peace during this time for you.

:grouphug: Gail & Nutsy I am so sorry for your loss. My father passed away in June and I took it pretty hard. I did still make my plans to WDW which I'm leaving in a few weeks. He had been sick for more then 10 years and he had been telling me for quite a while that I knew eventually he would die and I had to figure out what it would take to be okay. It was so important to him that, that is what has really gotten me through. When I am really down I think how disappointed he would be if he knew that I wasn't okay. And, eventually I smile up at him and get through another day. Gail I really think you're Dad will be smiling down at you while you are at WDW. Life does go on and he would want you to smile. :grouphug:

Gail and Nutsy, I am very sorry for both your losses.

I am sorry, Gail and Nutsy. I hope that you find comfort in these very sad times.

My instinct is to say hold off on the trip. There will be so many things that you'll want to think about and take care of at home, and you need time to grieve and not be preoccupied with trip plans, which are stressful, too.

I am sorry for your loss Gail, and yours too Nutsy

Gail, I wouldn't cancel your trip... it is probably exactly what you will need at the time and will serve as, probably, a much needed distraction for you! I was lucky after my mom died, to have many friends who kept me going out and doing things. It kept me more sane than I want to admit.

I will be praying that God helps you thru this time. Whatever decision you make about the trip will be right. This time is for mourning and healing. The trip may help you thru it. I wish you peace.
